I don’t think the performance was clearly worse than last year’s fortuitous win there. Obviously it was set up to defend spaces, which gives the impression that it was a worse game. But our players don’t have a defensive mentality anyway, particularly on the second goal, where I’ll repeatedly say that Ryan has poor defensive awareness but keeps being played at CDM.
