  1. This and the trivela pass to set Calafiori up. He can be Brazilian when he decides to. Shame we only see it once every 5 games.

  2. I fucking burst out laughing when I saw him do those little steps. Bro’s playing DDR.

    Guess they worked.

I would’ve bet my entire savings account of $17 that he would’ve passed it back to Calafiori or Zubimendi
    – With how the game went, it just seemed inevitable we keep playing it backwards. Everyone else was doing that shit

So happy he decided to fuck it and take on the defender. Great decision by Martinelli

that kind of instinctual play to force open the other teams structure – MORE OF THAT!

  5. Don’t get why the Sporting RB didn’t just foul him. Got shown all game that was a free thing to do to prevent any danger from wingers. Is he stupid?

  6. RB should have just fouled him like Araujo had been doing on the other side all game, ref would have done fuck all.

Look at Havertz’s movement. Elite. That’s a huge difference between him and Odegaard, he would’ve never made that run into the box.

On the flip side, once Odegaard went off, we couldn’t keep the ball for more than 6 passes. I thought Odegaard played okay (should’ve taken more risks), but we definitely lose a bit of control when Havertz is in midfield

Great movement by martinelli. Sucked in defenders with his movement that created an opening for Kai to make a run which martinelli picked out perfectly. Great touch and excellent finish. That’s what we like to see!!

  9. Not only the assit- he made a couple of runs/drives before that. We desperately need someone to drive/run vertically.

This run in the middle and world class pass is very unlike martinelli and im still confused where he pulled that out of.

  11. This is largely what our attack is lacking. Being able to beat 1-2 players and flip the numbers. It’s just so hard to score vs those 2 banks of 4-5. But if we beat a couple with a dribble or a great pass there can be space.

Even then it kind of highlights how hard it is to score. Still needed a great pass and touch to put the chance away. So many things need to break right to get the ball in the back of the net.

Great run. And great opening job the space by victor. The CBs both focused on victor. Good run by martinelli.

  13. Usually very critical of Martinelli, but he did great work as soon as he came on. Also a good reminder that running and dribbling with the ball can actually be a good thing…
