Antoine Griezmann has achieved some amazing things in his football career, such as the World Cup with France. And yet, as of now, he hasn’t won a single major Spanish trophy with the club that he is most synonymous with: Atletico Madrid. He had to change teams to win a domestic trophy, and the timing of doing so sees him arriving a year late for glory on three different occasions.

  1. Prime 2016-18. Atletico DNA in him. I’m ngl, broke my heart when he went to barca. Took a while to win our hearts back. In some ways, he matured and knew it wasn’t easy to do so. We formed one of THE best player in the world and we’re proud of him what he has accomplished here and his country. Aupa Atleti, Antoine👍🏽

  2. My favorite player of all time. He is the one that inspires me to continue playing even if it’s just for fun. I’m incredibly sad that he’s leaving Atletico because it’s the club I love but I know all things must come to an end. Us colchoneros will always love him and he will always be one of us

  3. I think you can compare him to Marco Reus. In his case injuries made him miss key moments like the WorldCup. I wonder in an alternative universe……

  4. Griezmann in 2016 Euros was spectacular to say the least, especially that chip and the cheeky finish against Neuer. He has and always will be one of the best of this generation, the difference he makes in the squad is easily noticeable when he does not play. He was integral for Atleti and of course, he was arguably the MVP for France in 18 and 22, and of course Euro 2016. He's extremely good at reading the game. Definitely a La Liga/French legend.

  5. He is better than Henry but prem and arsenal fans can't handle the truth
    Zidane platini
    Griezmann cantona
    Mbappe Henry
In that 3 tier system arguably precisely in that exact order
If we count in ribery papin Henry is barely top 3 French forwards so overall French players Henry really is barely top 5 in France history

  6. However unfortunate his career is in a professional sense, it’s hard to have much sympathy for a guy who is so openly racist towards Asian people

  7. I'm French and I still remember when he started with Real Sociedad and won the U-19 Euro in 2010 with France in France against… Spain.
To this day, we still want him to return to the NT for the World Cup in the country he will soon play club football. I will never forget his 2022 WC as a center midfielder.

  8. Antoine Griezman is football. He just make us remember all those players who have a lot of talent but don't get the silverware because they aren't in the right club at the right time

  9. I am not giving up to the idea of him being in the MLS, but joining Atleti for a short stint during the MLS break, and still winning something important with Atleti (La Liga – next season 😀 🙂 ). I mean he is already blessed by being a World Champion, and an Atletico Legend :)). I like him a lot (Barca fan), trying to get his jersey with long sleeves 🙂

  10. As much as I hate the saga of his transfer to barca and back to ATM. It wasn't his fault. As a player for barcelona he gave his all but was in a team that was very poorly assembled. I always admired his workrate and the only reason he got the hate he did was because of his fee, which wasn't his fault.

Also he was benched after returning to ATM. Not because he was out of form or out of favour with the coach / club or fans but because of he played too much, ATM would have the pay more for him.

Sad to see him leave. Hope he wins another Copa Del Rey with the club of his heart.
