Today marks 24 years since, Xavi replaced Overmars in the 62nd minute of an Athletic-Barça match. From that moment until today, Barça has ALWAYS had, at minimum, one La Masia player on the pitch. In every minute of every match (1,398 matches)

We owe so much of our recent revival to la masia.

The best academy in the world.

    – Koeman open the door again for La Masía
    – Xavi trust back La Masía and make insane discoveries
    – Flick is pushing their limits and tap into their potential
    – All of them where needed to push Barca back to prominence , i just wish with Koeman and Xavi things had ended in a higher note
    – Anyways , let’s all keep supporting Flick and stop with the nonsense of “high line is suicide” or “we suck” , or “Araujo and Ferran should never play for Barca again”. I swear to you , what Bastoni did with Italy if this was Araujo , it would be talked non stop for the next 3 months. Hell Huijsen in Madrid is not even having a better season than Araujo but the media always points at Araujo.

  3. La Masia is probably the only club academy that consistently provides a good portion of players in the national team….

Almost half of Spain’s preferred first team squad that won the WC have La Masia roots…

Maybe wait another year for this stat  and publish it as a silver jublee.

  5. what about the match against celta vigo in 2018?

this was the starting lineup, so technically there were no la masia player on the pitch until minute 60:

Ter Stegen; Semedo, Yerry Mina, Vermaelen, Digne; André Gomes, Paulinho, Denis Suárez; Coutinho, Alcácer, Dembélé.

    Thank you u/Loose-Examination-39 !
Amongst all the countless worthless football stats around, this one i s fundamental.
Not only for the success of Barca/La Masia, but for all clubs.
Most of them buying willy nilly rather than to nurture their most loyal fans.
Imagine having even the smallest chance of playing for your favourite club because you are born there, lived there and went to all the games with your family?
