I see AFTV has had a bump in viewership from the City and Southampton results. This whole culture of tap dancing for rival fans is such ratty behaviour.
I see some of you in r/soccer too.
Happy Easter all! Looking forward to these 2 special months to come, COYG!
(Yesterday we played a B-team, besides Ode and Gabi. Let it rest now, FA Cup never was a primary objective, and 2 extra rest days)
Why is it we always want to walk the ball in the net? It’s been a thing since Wenger but it’s gotten worse under Arteta. It’s as if it’s been instilled that we must score the perfect goal otherwise it’s not a proper goal. I love when the likes of Xhaka, Elneny (who only scores bangers) and Eze just say fuck this bs and smashes it in. Amount of times in the first half where we could shoot and choose not to is frustrating. Max was the only one. And even when the others shot, it’s right in front of you Ødegaard, just smash it in…nope miss controls it and Martinelli couldn’t score his too
I think the ‘boring, unenjoyable football’ narrative is so overstated . We don’t play a swashbuckling brand, without question. But there are plenty of opportunities to go forward and create.
Yesterday we had 25 shots, and the majority of the ball. Our wingers were constantly one on one; we just can’t take advantage of the periods in matches where we are fully dominant. We need those early big chances.
Not to mention we employ several players who are famous for their lack of end product like havertz, Jesus, madueke, and now Odegaard.
Running low on copium but my only silver lining after last night is we’ll all be thankful we don’t have to turn around and play Newcastle three days after the trip to the Etihad.
I see “A Different Knock” has finally admitted that our football isn’t enjoyable to watch. Spent so much time condescendingly downplaying criticism of our style and anyone who questions the manager and the team only to switch up and agree with them once it’s obvious the “doomers” were right. One day we need to have an honest discussion about some of these podcasters and influencers who pump fake positivity and optimism just so they can get media gigs and be in Arsenal’s merch drop videos and pre-match panel shows.
# We are going to use this disappointment and this fire in the belly to have the most amazing two months.
Arteta in April:
34 games played, 14 wins, 9 draws, 11 losses.
Honestly, for the rest of the season, I don’t care how we play or even win. Just get me that league title and maybe the CL if that’s doable. The only thing I care about is that league title, everything else can be addressed in the summer.
Arsenal official(on this sub) was posting every 1 hour before the game. Went dead quiet after the loss
We all want the same thing, and we have two fewer distracting games to play.
Our league position has not changed since the wonderful Everton game and you’d have grabbed it with both hands after the Wolves game.
Still in Europe with a nice draw.
Big Vik is in form.
Raya will play every game.
The injured boys will mostly uninjure themselves.
We’ve got the best young player in the world.
Keep calm and carry on.
Keep the Faith.
This sub is so jarring, all the negative people who on mass call people sheep and naive etc for wanting to have a positive outlook. Like I’m sorry I’m a happy person who has control of my emotion and can think critically.
I’m extremely disappointed with the result, but what’s the point in having a tantrum and spouting hyperbolic nonsense and proclaiming everything is shit and needs starting over.
The team needs to stay clam for 25 more days. April has been our worst month since last 3 seasons. Just don’t lose this month in PL and we can win the league.
My Liverpool supporting friends says it’s different that they lost the League Cup final and got knocked out of the FA cup by a championship team🤔
In hindsight it could be a good thing that we don’t have another FA cup game to worry about before Newcastle
Even though our attacking style is awful it’s obvious that most of our attacking players are aren’t good enough. NONE of our attackers would get into PSG, Madrid or Bayerns first 11. So following that logic if we want to be the best team in Europe we have to move onto different players.
Jesus, Havertz, Martinelli, Trossard I would replace all of them this summer. The World Cup would make that extremely difficult but not impossible.
There’s a case to fire him even if we win the prem.
Fact is he’s demonstrated a clear inability to compete on more than one front despite massive investment.
Crazy that this version of Pep’s City could still do the domestic treble and we could end up with ‘just’ the CL. Football is weird sometimes
Why are we getting so much hate because we lost in the Cups ? Where were all these posts and articles when Liverpool got eliminated in the FA Cup last year, or lost the Carabao cup final. Not even counting the UCL? Didn’t seem to bother people as much as us doing (so far) the same this year
I like how we got an absolutely piss easy draw all competiton and still fucked it
Wish we just lost to Liverpool or someone in round 4
Did anybody else see the angry exchange between Arteta & big Gabby when he came off?
people using that Teta quote about the most amazing two months against him as if we’ve not fully locked in and secured a great position in the league lol
I know what you people are
I am so beyond done with Gabriel Jesus. I have time for all of our players, mistakes, flaws and all, but not him. I wish him the best wherever he goes, but if he sees the pitch again this season, I’m just turning the game off. He shouldn’t even be on the bench.
All we need is the league. Nothing else matters in my opinion. If we bottle the league the pitchforks can rightly come out.
