Not to. We’ve seen this script, we know how it ends

I think for me the most worrying thing about the game was the performances by the second in line. Only Dowman moved themselves up in the ranking. Every else moved down. Even the likes of Mosquera who has been good all season was poor.

I’ll make my judgment when the season ends. If we win the league, then I won’t have any complaints.

What’s been really concerning me over the last 4-5 months is not losing games/points, but *how* we’re losing them. We’ve looked at times: lethargic, languid, uninterested, unbothered nervy, undisciplined. We dominated all the x-whatever stats, but looked unlikely to score for another 3-4 more games – absolutely toothless in attack. Dicking around all game with siedways passing drawing/holding a 1-goal lead only for let a late goal slip in. I feel that we just haven’t been good enough for months now, and have been riding our luck/certain individual heroic performances.
I really hope we can hang on to win the Prem, but the doubts I’ve had for the last 4-5 months have amplified massively. As for the CL: given our tame domestic cup exits, II really don’t think we have it in us to win the biggest cup of all. I just don’t see it.

There is no meltdown, but in today’s setup, having Ødegaard, Jesus, Dowman, Martinelli, and Madueke on the pitch at the same time makes the game too complicated.
All of them tend to push the ball into small spaces, dribble, and get as close to the net as possible. This slows down the game and pushes the opponent into a very defensive block.
It then requires the Arsenal backline to circulate the ball around the box; as a result, scoring becomes difficult in the tight space, and the defense becomes too vulnerable to counter-attacks each time the opponent recovers the ball.
All of these players are star players but having all of them together in the picth doesn’t win games

At some level I am glad we’re losing the unimportant games and getting a wake up call if it inches us closer to the PL title. The team will come back stronger. I have no doubts.

Jesus. What was Jesus doing today. Did he ever have a shot with his feet in 60 minutes?

Nope. We’ve got a 20 year old winning the league monkey on our back we’re in pole position to remove.
If we’d put out our strongest team I’d be more worried.

Dowman might actually be our best forward right now…

Team selection shows we tried to win with a weakened team. A sixteen year old played the whole game. It showed it mattered less than the other two completions we’re in.

Dropped points to Bournemouth and my head starts melting, follow that with a loss to City and my head would be on mars. On the other hand get 2 wins in those games and the league is essentially done and I’ll look at the champions league as playing with house money at that point. A week will make or break our season here.

I knew this game was going to go 50/50 once I saw the line up. Let’s be real there is a reason why we couldn’t go with the strongest line up and we saw how things changed a bit once Gyokeres came in. The League and the Champions is what really mattered, is what all the fans has been wanting and is what we still have to play for

It would be an oddly low bar to judge the season by if only the Prem is won. Pathetic performances in big games now make me unsure about what should’ve been a relatively easy UCL route. Still can’t get over how ridiculous it is, given all the spending & time Arteta was afforded.

It’s not like we threw away game by fielding kids, another chance of trophy gone against on paper very inferior team. And league is not given with performances like that.

The key take aways;
Jesus’ time is done here.
Havertz can play with Gyok but only higher up. Not in the midfield.
MLS should only play in the midfield, the Lb project is over.
Benny Blanco should fall out with England again; two weeks around bums like Foden and Palmer clearly impacted him. Pure 0/10 performance.

I personally dont give two craps about the cups. Epl and CL are the only trophies that matter

with the current form of both teams, we’d be lucky to not lose at the Etihad
factor that into your league points projection lol

I mean an inspired team is impossible to stop by soton of all teams. I think they are all very aware fatigue has the potential to derail their whole season so they lost an “insignificant” game.
I think Arteta also thinks that playing like we’ve been playing, no matter how boring and risky, got us closest to the title in 2 decades, so why stop now. I disagree, I think he needs to improvise and improve the attack. We have some amazing players up there, but they are ALL bad. NO, Odegaard will not be a miracle cure, just as Jesus, Havertz and Saka haven’t been. We need them to play together! They ALL need to chip in and Arteta needs to give them the platform to do it.
If we lose the title, I blame it all on Arteta for not galvanizing the attacking players we have MUCH earlier. He must do better now, or risk losing everything he’s built and give more firepower to the ArtetaOut-ers. COYG!

Can the club finally grow a pair and start selling in the summer? I miss ruthless arteta. Guy had no problem outcasting huge earners like Ozil and Auba. I’m legitimately tired of Jesus. And I’ll be tired of Havertz too if we keep pretending he’s a midfielder. Also stop buying Chelsea players. Our depth is actually a myth and we have so much deadwood to clear out
