Great news for the team he’s such a difference maker. Fingers crossed the treatment goes smoothly and he comes back at full strength.

All this reporting around his injury is so odd…. conflicting. It’s even hard to find in a lot of the reports what is injured. I read something this morning that’s it’s hamstring?

I guess both this and Pearce are correct, as if Ali comes back end of April, beginning of May, we’ll only have 3 or 4 leagues games left , at most

  4. I’ve seen people very frustrated with him, understandably so, but he is getting up there in age and nearing that dooming 35 mark where most keepers call it a day.

Do we reckon he stays post summer?

If he stays he is obviously the starter and if we didn’t have a good backup we’d also 100% want to keep him.

But Mama would surely be expecting to be the starting keeper next year I’d have thought, Alisson is just too good to be our second keeper if we keep him till the end of his contract.

Basically do we think we keep Mama happy enough being a back up for another year? Or do we let Ali leave to wherever he wants similar to Salah and keep our next keeper happy who could be here for 5+ years even if it is a drop in quality next year?

Makes sense. Sounds like he tried to play through the injury until now by letting others kick for him when possible. But his inability to kick became an issue with some worrying (and costly) distribution of late. So glad he’s taking the rest and appreciate him giving it a go. Definitely explains a lot too…
