  1. Russian and GCC have broken the system because of oil money. It’s hard for other clubs to be competitive, while FFP is a joke at best.

    It’s global entertainment rather than being a community asset that local people in years gone by would coalesce around.

    The problem for football it takes away some of what makes it such a special sport when that tribalism is replaced by an empty commercial product.

    I still watch it and find it entertaining, but nowhere near as emotionally attached to it.

    “Football” is far more than the Premier League.

    If you’re disillusioned as a fan supporting a Premier League team, maybe consider the teams in the rest of the pyramid and have ties to your community. Those are the ones that need support and genuinely work with the local community.
