[Burt, Tele] Exc: Pep Guardiola will not make Man City decision until end of season. 55-year-old has one year remaining on his contract but wants to evaluate in May before committing to any future. Guardiola wants to analyse in May where City are under him, how he feels, and then decide.

No, there’s absolutely no chance of that being true; neither he nor the management would do something so stupid.

Feels like we should know a bit sooner though for a potential successor. I don’t want to end up with a Ferguson scenario where we only have a new manager by mid-summer. Also because transfers will be dependent on who we have as manager as a reflection of their football.

At the very least we should be opening discussions with potential successors now and having the basics done to either be activated or just left if Pep decides he’ll stay on for another season.

  3. If he was gone the board would alreqdy know about it. As he’s said he’s got a contract until 2027 and utnil he comes out with anything else it’s all idle chatter

FUCKING LETS GO. he’s gonna feel for the replacement. Hopefully the transition can be as smooth as possible. In my opinion 100 years reign of pep.
Happiest news I heard all day, latest from Ornstein was that he was out by the summer.

Hopefully Enrique will be available to take up the mantle.

Pep out fanatics will want him gone, but luckily he cares enough to not leave suddenly. I don’t see him leaving without a successor in place, and we cannot let him go without sending him off in a manner worthy of his achievements.

So we’ve gone from “He’s leaving this summer and Maresca will replace him” to “He’ll decide after the League Cup final” to “He’ll decide after the end of the season”. Then he’ll stay and we’ll do this dance until he does/doesn’t sign a contract over Christmas.
