  1. It’s very concerning but I don’t think rb is going to be a priority. Frimpongs injury record is actually very good before joining us. Is it just bad luck? Possibly

I’m not really sure what frimpong does in a Premier League back four. He’s clearly a talented and quite effective player, but he makes much more sense in a back three with wingbacks situation.

As for Bradley, I don’t know what we do at this stage. The potential is obviously massive, but he cannot realise it because he doesn’t stay fit.

  3. Trent leaving is actually a loss for him and us. He can’t find form and a place in the England squad and we clearly miss his availability and creativity. Imagine the long balls and crosses he would have made for Heki

But we move on and need an actually fit RB to challenge next season

Depends how long Conor Bradley is out for. One thing that is for sure is that we’re not getting three RBs. If we do get a new one, we’ll have to sell one of Bradley or Frimpong.

  5. Think we need a new rb starter. I don’t see frimpong as a rb he’s not got that defensive presence and Bradley’s only ever available for about 40% of a season

The problem is we can’t have 3 RBs at the club, but both Bradley and Frimpong are homegrown so selling one of them will be terrible for us, because we are so short on homegrown players. RB is one position where we will have to postpone bringing someone in until 2027.

Keep beating this drum just get Oscar Mingueza on a free since he can play RB and RCB

  8. Backup? I think we need a solid RB full stop. I don’t think we can rely on either to make it through a season.

Ironically, Gomez is exactly the profile we need at RB (comfortable at RB and CB). But, he’s injury prone himself.

  10. Absolutely need a RB but we know it’ll get neglected. This club has a habit of pushing back signings that should have been made a season before. We still just have too much work to do with our wingers, a midfielder will probably be on the cards but I think one will be sold to bring that it.

Ideally we bring in a CB aswell because I think Ibou is leaving but I think the club will try and get away with VVD, Jaquet, Leoni and Gomez, along with one of those academy CB’s we brought in over the last few months.

I don’t think we’ll get CL football but I don’t think the money we lose from that will come into effect until next year? So the next summer window will be affected by that. Could be wrong about that but swear that’s how it works.

I think we try for Geertruida again in the summer, he can play RB and right CB, and I think maybe left CB so he’ll be an excellent utility player, and i think the replacement for Gomez in that sense.

  12. I don’t think we need a backup, I think we need a starter. Frimpong is an odd one, he has a great injury history, but the second he joined us it all changed. Bradley has always been unreliable with injuries. Of course three senior RB’s might seem like overkill, but you realistically won’t be dropping anyone’s game time. Bradley can rotate and so can Frimpong at both RB and RW. Frimpong’s versatility makes him very useful in signing a RB for the first team. We can also afford to sign someone older. Frimpong could prove to be a fluke season or/and Bradley could mature and his body becomes more capable. So I wouldn’t say it’s necessary to spend too much on young or a prime player, but someone coming towards the end of their prime, a RB version of what Thiago was. Munoz at Palace, there’s been talk of White leaving Arsenal, Matty Cash. PL proven players who won’t cost a fortune, but solid enough for the clubs demands.

  13. Unpopular opinion: I just wish Gomez could stay fit and play there. I really like him and think he’s super solid when in a good run.

No, we have other areas of higher priority and won’t spend enough / sell one of the two to get someone in.

So our RB situation is screwed. Half of our HG players are at RB and none of them are reliables. But we can’t really dump them either because that’s where we get HG from. Honestly part of me thinks just to play Szoboszlai there just because there is no where in midfield to put him next season (except in Double pivot with Gravenberch) and I think we’d be strongest with him at RB and a midfield upgrade next to Gravenberch but it’s just such a mess because we are squad committed and we just might lot want to add numbers there

We are supposedly interested in Geertruida. He is a bit of a utility player so might be good as a squad player. Is there any news on Bradley? Was a rumour at Gala match he might be out until 2027 but i don’t remember hearing anything official from the club on how long he is out

Very unlikely the club go out and spend money specifically on another right back.

Much more likely scenario is if Frimpong and Bradley are injured again, then Jacquet will be used there. With his skills set, passing ability etc there’s no reason why he couldn’t play there.

Alternatively we buy a player who would cover multiple positions e.g. a LB/RB hybrid like Spence or a CM/RB hybrid.

  18. My guess is we hope they are both less injury prone next season as well as we will hopefully have our younger center backs at that point who will both be coming back from an injury and need minutes. I imagine if they are like a 3rd choice option at right back that isn’t bad.

  19. Gotta move one on and bring in someone new by January next year if nothing changes.

Bradley had a season ending injury. There’s no accounting for that. Yes he had injuries prior but who’s to say he wouldn’t have had any other issues prior to his last injury.

Frimpong on the other hand is more alarming. I fear it’s another one of those not built for the PL if he’s getting these kind of injuries. The pace of the German league may suit him better but that’s something you only learn in hindsight.

RB is less of a concern than the likes of a no. 6 which we’ve not replaced since Fabhinio. I’d rather a depth put into our midfield right now.

  21. We don’t need a new backup RB. We need a new starting RB. This simply isn’t good enough from either Bradley or Frimpong.

  22. I think adding another RB or CB hybrid player would be wise. Frimpong’s pace is a threat and imo is he is good cover for the RW position as well. We need another Bradley type. String in defense and tackle with a high work rate.

  23. Time to cut our loses with Bradley , always will be injured.
Frimpong can’t defend but we need him for coverage on the right, squad player at best. Time ti sign an actual RB, one that actually can defend unlike 3 of our back 4
