If there's one thing this group of players needs now is someone who will galvanize them, brings some passion and makes them play their hearts out for the rest of the games. Hopefully we'll see some reflection of that energy on the pitch and stay up. COYS

  1. Maybe, I’m not sure this squad has the character to respond positively to this approach. Will very (hopefully) gladly eat humble pie if I’m wrong though!

  2. This aspect of De Zerbi is welcome. Tottenham players are too soft. Frank was too soft. Like Conte said they don’t want to play under pressure.

On the pitch, I like everything about this hire. Hope the players respond well, cause its ultimately up to them.

This is also why i think the whole kone thing is overblown

From what i saw it just sounded like it was a climax of a situation where kone just wasnt putting in enough effort

Yes de zerbi shouldnt of handled it that way but i dont think it was that bad

hopefully if we are stuck with him he’ll chance the captaincy. nothing will change with those arrogant twats at CB having the armband

And this is why they want him. Completely different approach. Not only to the players but the catastrophically toxic, ignorant fanbase.

He absolutely won’t gve a f$ck what limp, hand-wringing Reddit thinks. lol. Won’t even know what that is.

    Might even turn Romero around.

  7. These qualities are great in a person who has empathy. He will know when to push, when to put his arm around someone and when to give them space to figure it out themselves. His energy, drive and perfectionism become contagious because he is consistent and fair, and the players always know where they stand, even if they don’t like it.

In a person without empathy, however…

So the question is, which is De Zerbi?

  8. Top, top players want to be pushed and coached hard. Not sure if our wages attract these top players but time will tell. 0% chance he’s managing Tottenham in 2030 though

  9. I don’t think we’re questioning his results as a whole, I know things ended poorly at Brighton but they were also still in Europe, not 17th. It’s more so his character and who WHAT he’s defended players doing.

  10. I like everything about this hire except his supportive comments on Greenwood, but do I believe that alone should disqualify him? I don’t know. I feel very, very conflicted today. I think he needs to apologise straight away. As a supporter, I acknowledge that I don’t have to love a manager to root for our collective success as a club but what he said is very disgusting to me. As a father of daughters, I can’t fathom it, I honestly can’t — so today, for me, is a dark day.

This style of coaching is a joke. Screaming at players is for coaches too dumb to gain their respect.

Our delicate children aren’t ready for this guy. I really see this appointment being an absolute fucking disaster long term.

This guy is like Conte with less football creds and more testosterone

If we wanna be winners we need a fighting spirit. It’s high risk for us to stay up but it’s what we need long term. Just hope it doesn’t end in another disaster.
