Our solution to having defenders not good enough to play in a pair together is just to play 3 bad players together

No issues at all with starting a lot of new players, it’s exactly what friendlies are for. Team sheets in numerical order, however, violate the Geneva Convention

I never expected a return to the back 5 but I think it’s a useful experiment putting McCrorievin at RWB. Chances are Doak might not be available at the WC and we need width. Tierney is also almost too good to leave out

Very happy with this. Gunn was weak, Conway a disaster and Dykes just isn’t at international standard. Let’s hand out an old school doing tonight.

Once more not surprised Bain hasn’t been picked but again it’s the wrong decision.

Also nice to see us go back to the tried and tested Tierney and Robbo combo.

We tested this a few times and it was a disaster each time so we take another preparation game to test it yet again just in case now they are both knackered it works better.

Christ, the World Cup’s gonna be a repeat of the Hungary game in the Euros isn’t it? Has Steve Clarke learnt anything about attacking football in the two years since?

  9. Rare from Clarke, looks like he actually wants everyone he called up to get some gametime
