I hate when they talk about money spend because it's on three players mostly is who i didn't think we wanted but he came in not fit without preseason but he haven't played much and have been out for months and sorts came in wasn't physically good enough in the beginning but as get on but he had to adapt to the pace of the league and as he was getting on he went out for a couple matches but out of the three it is routine who show some shine but they doesn't understand that we lost alot through sales ,free transfer and tragic events
I agree with 50% of Konate's interview. However, the other 50% leaves a lot to be questioned. As Craig said, he fails to take responsibility for his poor performances. He also fails to address how some senior players have fallen off this season (Macca, Grav, Salah, Gakpo, Robbo, Alisson etc). Konate also cleverly doesn't address the elephant in the room; is he staying or leaving in July!
Salah has found it difficult "…to score from open play." The reality is that there is little-to-no "open play" for our wingers, as this season (due to the slow build system) they receive the ball stuck deep and wide in the corners, starting from a standstill. Of course they have struggled.
Craig is 100% correct about the knock-on effects of missing CL football. Not only would it make it possible/likely that current players starting looking to move on elsewhere, but it makes Liverpool far less of an attractive destination for transfer targets.
But this will be made even worse if the team is playing dismal-looking football through the end of the season. And even worse if the players on the pitch look frustrated/miserable. And even worse if those same players look great when playing elsewhere during the World Cup. And even worse still if it's looking like Slot will remain at the helm (as there would be little to suggest to a potential incoming players that things will materially improve).
If that's the picture of Liverpool football at the end of this season, it could truly set the team back 3- or 5-years (or even more).
