For anyone interested. Endo probably refers to endogenous; something produced from within. Which is the opposite of exogenous; something produced externally.

Humans have an Endocannabinoid system which allows us to feel the effects of consuming exogenous cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, etc). Without this system these cannabinoids would just pass through our bodies unnoticed.

Humans can also produce their own endogenous cannabinoid, [anandamide](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anandamide), which affects mood, appetite, pain, and influences the neurotransmission of dopamine and serotonin.

The Endocannabinoid system is so named because it was discovered when Israeli scientist Dr. Raphael Mechoulam was studying cannabis and its effects in the late 1980s.

A slang term for cannabis, “endo” derives from “indoor” i.e. high quality. Like the player. Appropriate
