He's killing everything in french League 1, we had a huge start to the season last year, he was re-selected to French national team at age 33… and we sold him for only 6 millions. An other season around 10th for Udinese without any hope of winning a little bit more. I'd give everything to have a season even like Atalanta's… COME BAAAACK THAUVIN 🥲

The club doesn’t have power in these situations. A lot of players join Udinese because they know the club won’t get in the way of a sensible transfer
He was 33 and wanted to move back home to France. Since he wasn’t sold to the premier league or a European giant thas a good fee considering age, length of contract and keeping the image of the club so future players will join. It’s a delicate balancing act
But yeah he’d absolutely cook with zaniolo
A bit unrelated, but to this day I am still baffled to his decision going to Mexico when he was in his prime age and NT regular while also being targeted by many giant European clubs back then..
