Tuchel on Palmer’s fitness: ”I saw him live against Arsenal and for the first time in a long time, I had the feeling his stride was back to the original lengths. Before, I felt he was not free and the stride was not long enough, the acceleration was not there and the movement was not free.”

I read this and was genuinely impressed by what a coach is looking at in their players. A nice tidbit of information.

Hopefully his shooting follows with his stride. We need it for the run in!

  2. I agree with Tuchel

Palmer looks to have been regaining his mobility from the injury

Looks like all he’s missing right now is the confidence

Can see stride length changing being a function of not feeling safe in his groin.

Which is a shame, because I’d feel safe in his groin

Hopefully his ability comes back next. Dudes been playing like the Monstars stole his talents.

If you’ve ever had an injury then gone back to playing sport you’ll know how tough it is to be convinced you’re back to 100%. He’s clearly been trying to gain confidence in his own body, and that takes a lot of focus away from other aspects of the game. Now that he seems to know his body can keep up with his brain during a game, I think it’s just a matter of time before we see him regain confidence in the more impressive aspects of his game we all remember.

He seem to still have a mental block on the pitch at times, not just a physical limitation, although the two can get mixed together after an injury

  7. I miss Tuchel’s pressers giving us meaningful information but mostly I miss the winning and the fact he understood the culture here.

  8. I still remember when tuchel said he wanted to build a team that is feared by other teams. Miss this guy

I miss when pressers weren’t just bullshit quotes managers would say to try and keep their jobs. Fucking hell weve fallen off
