Feels a bit premature – I’d have waited until he had a better squad and higher expectations and judged him there as that was his previous ceiling.
We don’t want to be the underdog punching up forever

Maybe it’s because of our history with him but for the first time in a long time our managerial appointment has felt right. And the results have backed it up. I’m looking forward to seeing where he takes us post-summer.

It has been such a dramatic turnaround after like a decade at this point. He just seems to be made for this club. I can’t help but wonder what it would have looked like if he was here when we first got money.

That’s great news I hope when I see people wanting Moyes out its a small minority. Just look where we have been the last couple of seasons. Fighting relegation multiple seasons in a row close to being in trouble as a club. We have gone through a rotating merry go round of managers and no one has been able to steady the ship until Moyes. This season for me anything above 15th was just icing on the cake amd here we are fighting for Europe he absolutely deserves the faith. I know his lineups and late substitutions can be frustrating sometimes but people who strongly feel they want him gone need to have a little perspective and think about where we have been.

He deserves it and I hope we make it into Europe. We back in the summer and buy the players he wants. The fact he took a relegation squad to mid table in half season and having us competing for a European place the season after is remarkable. I don’t understand why anyone would be against this ..

Good! I’d like to have a bit of stability at the club for a couple years and we’ve done massively better than I expected us to this year too.

Good on him, he’s earned it.

Hm. Dunno about this bit.

Ive said all along he can’t go into next season as a lame duck manager. The only 2 options are sacking him or new contract. This is the right move id say at the moment. But big fat LOL at the ‘project’ centred on youth

Fully behind this. New era for the club, new stadium, and the man who was essentially John Everton for my childhood. Love it.
Full steam ahead Mr Moyes! Destination – Europe

I’m split on Moyes.
I can’t decide if I love him a lot, or love him very much.

I know this is massively unpopular on this sub but I’m not thrilled by this news. I think parting ways at the end of next season is perfect for both parties.

It hasn’t been perfect, and I often wish Moyes would use his subs more or give more chances to Dibling, Rohl, Armstrong, Aznou. However, I don’t think I’ve liked an Everton squad more in over a decade. That spine of Pickford, Tarkovsky and Branthwaite (and Keane filling in), Gana and Garner, KDH and Ndiaye – it’s my favorite collection of Everton players to watch in a hell of a long time. We need to improve on Beto, McNeil, Myko, and O’Brien as rb, but the fight they’ve shown this season has been admirable.
I think sometimes fans look back on that Ancelotti period with rose tinted glasses. We started strong, but for the majority of that season we played pretty boring football, relying too heavily on DCL, James, or Richy to pull out some moment of creativity while we spent the majority of the games fishbowl passing along the back line.
We have had some off games here or there this season for sure, but when we are on, I haven’t enjoyed watching an Everton team this much since Roberto Martinez’ first season in charge. Moyes has brought something back to the club that’s been lacking for too long. Fully deserves the extension.

I’d be happy with a mid table finish tbh. Being disappointed at losing games (not just expecting it) has made a nice change.
The squad still needs a lot of work on balance and depth, so getting into Europe and playing a few rounds would be a huge bonus.
