Sports move on very quickly, be it from good or bad seasons, specific results or specific players, recency bias is very much a thing, too. It’s easy to always focus on what’s next. It’s up to fans to be keepers of these ‘threads of information’ and ensure that even as time goes by we respect our history and heroes of the past

  2. Fantastic player, but time to pass it to someone else. I think his statement was very classy and hopefully the whole process will continue the same.

Probably stayed one year too long but it’s hard to time these things perfectly. He gave a lot of joy, has a great record. Surprised it’s a free but his wage bill was probably hurting and causes jealousy. Pity there was a bit of bitterness this year but all 11 players need to work hard. His assists numbers are good but he’s been a passenger in a lot of games. End of the Klopp era really.

  4. Lock in for these final games Mo! We NEED you to leave on a green if it means anything (which it does not)

  5. It just puts into perspective how ridiculous he was for so long when 10 goals and 9 assists is a terrible season.

19 G/A in 34 games is insane really, considering how poor we have been as a team this season. Still think he has it, you don’t just lose it that quickly in 6 months.

  7. I’m not trying to make this about Slot, but from a manager’s perspective, I think Mo could really have been used better this season. Too often he’s been isolated on the touchline. He clearly isn’t that kind of winger. Anytime Wirtz or Szobo (from midfield) linked up with him he became a threat. We should have kept him closer to goal and have our right back hold the width. Yes, Mo’s time might be up, his shooting and final balls have not been at his level, but I genuinely believed he could still have had a decent season if he was used better. We became too left-focused this season
