A couple of days ago, Iran launched missiles at a Peshmerga base in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region, killing six soldiers. I’m not sharing this for political reasons.

Among those killed was, 26 years old, Ramin Adel Oramary. The creator and one of the admins of “هاندەرانی هۆڵەندا – Netherlands Fans,” a Facebook fan page dedicated to Dutch football with over 19,000 followers and nearly 3,000 posts. For years, Ramin poured his heart into celebrating the Netherlands national team and connecting Kurdish fans with Dutch football culture.

He was a Peshmerga soldier and an avid lover of the Dutch people and their beautiful game. I thought shining a light on his story to the very people he admired so much might make him happy up there.

Rest in peace, Ramin.

Thats really fucking cool (besides his death, obviously). I really hope Kurdistan can get full independence and international recognition someday, theyve been fucked over historically and just recently theyve been rugpulled by Trump twice in Syria and he wanted them to be cannon fodder in Iran. Shit really sucks
