Charlie Austin joined Sky Sports Fan Club and discussed whether Michael should be given the Man Utd boss on a permanent basis.

Harry Maguire backed the current interim coach after stating that he is confident of agreeing a new deal with Manchester United, but the England defender stressed he would not want to stay at the club just for “sentimental” reasons.

  1. Team Carrick where are you we need him rather bring another high calibre manager and if things go wrong again we remain in the same garbage paying compensations hence making losses yet the club needs stability which Mickel has given that team which was inconsistent before he came in.

  2. Maguire, I cant stand that man being at United, right now he is only playing as he has more experience, strength and height than Heaven, if De Ligt and Martinez were fit Maguire would have no starts at all and if it was not the zero experience Wilcox no new contract, the standards of the club have dropped so far, Rashford had about eight decent games he was given a new contract, Shaw has been available for one season out of seven and he will be offered a new contract to be injured again, if Mount comes back they will o0ffer him a new contract, surprising they have not tried to bring back Phil Jones and as for Carrick, we have another Ole, the club wont be sorted unless Carrick has the ball to make sure the bs times are over and the right changes will happen.

  3. We’ve no chance of getting Enrique or Xavi. Nagelsmann plays a three at the back, and we probably wouldn’t be able to get him anyway. Makes sense to stick with Carrick at the moment.

Also, if we have a midfield rebuild to do, why not have one of the better midfielders to have played in the premier league to oversee it?

  4. OLE IS IN THE PAST AND CONTINUOUSLY MAKING SUCH COMPRISONS TO CARRICK DOES NOT HELP THE MANAGEMENT POSITION AT UNITED. WHY SUGGEST A ZIDANE WHO HAS NEVER MANAGED IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE AND HAS BEEN OUT OF MANAGEMENT FOR SUCH A LONG TIME.

  5. Please give Carrick at least 5 years contract , and after Bruno Guimarães . Manchester United should get , Bruno Méndez , Bruno Langa , Bruno Amione and Bruno Zapelli , Bruno Soares , Bruno Gomes , Bruno Martins Indi and ………….. Bruno Duarte .

  6. One game a week , Carrick is in the game , with 3 games in a week , PL, Champion League , FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Carrick will still deliver…………… GET HIM 5 YEARS contract !!!

  7. Xavi? Always clueless as usual. The only name out there is Enrique, if they can't get him, let carrick continue till the wheels fall off, maybe then a better manager would be available. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

  8. Zidane said he wil never manage in England!!!! And he’s gona be France manager after world cup

It’s luiz Enrique…. Howe? maybe… Emery at Utd would be good

  9. Nobody should care what Maguire says. Dude should have been gone from this club years ago but since he had a few solid games this season everyone forgot how bad he really was for Man Utd.

  10. I'm an Arsenal fan and am loving seeing Utd finally find itself again. I see Charlie's point about Ole's success being short-lived but Michael Carrick isn't Ole and I think they should give him the chance to prove himself beyond this season, the balance, stability and belief he's brought is clearly monumental
