Probably a hot take but Mourinho was better here than Conte. With a much worse squad — that midfield and defence was fucking shite.

On the other hand, Conte, in his second season when he started tweaking things, made Son play as some fuck ass deep lying forward which didn’t suit him at all. And Kane was mostly playing as a pure №9 — Conte always thought that this role fits Kane the most. Imagine having one of the best passers in the world and playing him as a fucking Lukaku

Let’s not be too revisionist here. He threw a hissy fit and fled to Italy and refused to come back which forced the club’s hand in firing him. Had he not been so reactionary we reportedly would have been content to stick with him til the end of the season.
