I genuinely don’t understand Atlético’s handling of Julián Álvarez.
They spend ~€95M to bring him in, while already having Griezmann — who basically plays as a creative second striker — and then ALSO bring in Sørloth, a completely different profile as a physical 9.
Álvarez has a bit of a dip, Griezmann and Sørloth perform at a high level. Now Griezmann is leaving and Atlético are open to selling Álvarez for reportedly ~€100M (basically what they paid), which makes no sense to me.
If Griezmann is going, then Álvarez should become even MORE important — he’s literally the closest profile they have to replacing that creative/second striker role.
So why buy him in the first place as a long-term piece, not fully commit to him, then consider selling him right when the squad is opening up for him.
Does Griezmann being guaranteed to leave somehow affect if we go for Julian? If his price is higher than 100M, we should just go for Osimhen instead or settle for someone like Vlahovic for free.

oh my god another Alvarez post, give it a break
Lmao, who told you that Atletico is ready to sell?
I just don’t want our club to get scammed like the griezman transfer
They won’t let him go, well not easily at least. They would ask for a ridiculous fee unless Alemany cooks something up for us lol. Imo I rather go for different profiles similar to Lewy. A tall 9 with Ariel presence, can hold up the ball and has great link up play. But lets what happens this summer.

Cause it’s likely not true.
Anything that’s come is a bunch of noise from the media, from Julian’s camp, likely, and from Barcelona, cause we do this shit a lot.
Chances are that Atleti is not selling, we don’t have the money to buy him, and it simply won’t happen.
Maybe in 2 years, but not this summer.
He is not happy at Atletico at least that’s what some people say. Also he hasn’t been that great. I still doubt they would sell him fore less than 120 mill.
Probably Atletico doesn’t want to sell him but what happens if the player pushes to leave ?
Most of your assumptions are wrong.
They signed Alvarez because he is a great forward, not this or that. They signed Sorloth because he is a good target man.
Griezmann was already a veteran which they know was approaching the end of his career at Atletico.
They are not open to Alvarez leaving.
They have already offered him to negotiate a new contract a few months ago.
