I’d like to see us with two capable, high performing wingers. I think the drop-off in Salah’s decline and relying on Gakpo has ruined us largely. We miss last season’s Mo and Diaz so badly.

Ngumoha’s got high potential, but we can’t rush him – let alone be relying on a single 17 year old for our attacking creativity.

Olise and Barcola will not come cheap. Someone check on FSG because it’s unlike them to splash the cash two summers in a row.

  3. Shoddy-Insurance9031 on

Lmao isn’t Olise contract until 2029? And he just joined and there was a report that he is happy there. I would love him here but cmon

  4. I_trust_politicians on

I’ve liked Talbi from Sunderland when ive seen him. Obviously not Olise class, but might be good for a cheaper option. Cant see us doing huge money for 2 wingers, probably just one

    What about a Diaz replacement?

    Or a Fabinho replacement?

I am optimistic Frimpong profiles better at wing than RB.

Diomande is a done deal ig but conceicao is a good shout as well. Both very pacy and direct

  7. Yes to Diomande, but Conceicao is nowhere near good enough. Guy is far far too lightweight, and not exactly clinical either.

  8. We’re going to need to hit a gem for this replacement. I don’t see Olise or Barcola coming.

A “washed” Salah season is gonna be your standard Diomande season while he matures. I hope fans are patient enough to deal with a lot of youth and inexperience.

  10. Diomande feels inevitable, excellent numbers, can play both sides, good relationship with Leipzig and he’s been complimentary of us.

Conceicao is never happening, we don’t sign attackers with poor numbers.

I think both wings have been a cause of a fair share of our problems this season. Kerkez has took time, we have been playing our best player at RB, our new RB as RW.

I think FSG can’t really afford to not spend this year. You don’t leave a squad rebuild half complete.

Why are we moving away from the transfer strategy that 1) gave us an identity and 2) brought us unprecedented success in the PL era?

  13. For most of Jurgens tenure I knew that whoever we bought he could bring out an extra one or two levels out of them. Not always but usually.
That’s unusual but I got used to it.
Now I worry whoever is in charge (from manager/head coach to director of football etc) won’t be able to see or implement that.
If Xabi is to be our manager does anyone know what his abilities in that regard are?

  14. That’s fine but for god’s sake please get a defensive midfielder and two quality CBs aswell as a RB that can stay fit so Dom can stay in midfield.

  15. holeinmyboot on

Olise won’t leave, guaranteed trophies for years and great chance of winning CL in the short term.

  16. Professional_Owl7826 on

You know, we could have signed Semenyo and solved this issue last summer. But hey ho, now we have to buy a ready made replacement that needs to hit the ground running and sellers can charge higher because they know that we need that signing

  17. To be fair, I can see a lot of top quality wingers wanting to be the “salah replacement” since it’s big shoes to fill

I wouldn’t write any names off just yet

  18. bearbeetsandbsg on

I hope we don’t get Olise, he’s a great player but he’s not going to bring in any pace to our squad.

We were lacking a lot of pace this season, spending 100M+ on him wouldn’t help us much

  19. spacedude444 on

even if olise were to leave hes gonna be over 100m

it will be barcola and diomande trust me, i wanted barcola ever since he went to psg his only problem is finishing if he gets better at it he could genuinely be the best winger in the world

  20. Or, perhaps hold fire…until we know who the manager will be, what system they will play?

Isak will be back, we have Hugo, Cody, Chiesa (if he stays), Rio + all the other youff players coming through. Wirtz, Szobo, Frimpong – do we need a knee jerk replacement?

I feel that there may be a “mass” exodus this season, regardless of Salah and whether Slot will/won’t leave – the team doesn’t feel very full atm, in part due to how Slot fields his benches.

  21. livinalieontimna on

This is great but unless there’s a dramatic change in fortunes before the end of the season it’s going to be very difficult to convince big names to come here for Slot Ball and Thursday night trips to Whereverthefuckestan

  22. Operationtiger8 on

Diomande makes the most sense and he literally said on live stream it was his dream to play for Liverpool (he walked it back a few weeks later because saying something like that is super unprofessional)

  23. billybobthehomie on

Maybe I’m dumb but I really don’t think olise is the right profile for this team.

We are so very clearly lacking pace and physicality. I’d much prefer lesser known but more energetic/athletic wingers than him.

We already have a Florian Wirtz. We don’t need another one. I think that’d be a huge mistake.

Diomande is who should be our number 1 target imo. Would make this team so much better. If playing flo at the 10 is the future of the team (which it should be) we need to surround him with fast, lethal wingers. Not ones who he’ll play a through ball to but then will try to play another creative pass afterwards

  24. Cleetus_Garvey on

I wouldn’t get my hopes up for any of these guys if a manager switch is eminent.

  25. GreyingThumb on

Tbh I don’t think anyone we sign will hit the ground running like Mo. I remember the first goal he scored and it was pretty clear from the ease of scoring it that Mo was scoring buckets for us.

  26. I like the idea of Minteh from Brighton but no idea if it’s at all possible based on contract, price etc.

  27. PEPSICOLA123456 on

Mate. Olise and barcola have no reason to leave PSG to come to a struggling club in transition phase

  28. Specific_Lock4823 on

So we spent 200 million on strikers to have one on the bench? Make it make sense.

  29. Forsaken-Original-28 on

Depends on who the manager is surely? We really should have pushed hard for Kvaratskhelia last jan

  30. Tall_Expression_4794 on

Ill never understand why we didnt go for Olise couple of years ago. It was clear that he is on another level and Munich ended up getting him for peanuts compared to how much average players cost nowdays.
