Barcelona can sign Rashford for €30 million (£25.9m) this summer as part of the agreement which saw the [England](https://www.espn.com/soccer/team?id=448) forward move to Camp Nou on loan in July.
United are aware of speculation in Spain that Barcelona could look to renegotiate the terms, including paying a lower fee or attempting to defer payment until after another loan spell.
However, Old Trafford bosses are adamant that they will not enter fresh talks and are willing to let Rashford return to the club in the summer if Barcelona do not take up their option.
Sources have told ESPN that United believe Rashford’s form in Spain has increased his value and that they could potentially negotiate a higher fee with another club.
The 28-year-old has scored 10 goals in 39 appearances this season and is set to be part of England’s squad at the World Cup.
Sources have told ESPN that there have been enquiries from a number of clubs in England and Europe about Rashford’s potential availability amid the uncertainty about his future.
Rashford, who has two years left on his contract at United, was made to train alone last summer before sealing his move to Barcelona.
If he returns at the end of the season, sources have told ESPN that it’s likely he would be allowed to rejoin the first-team squad, now that former head coach Ruben Amorim is no longer at the club.
Amorim was sacked in January and replaced with Michael Carrick, who has worked with Rashford before as a coach under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United are still considering their options about whether to give Carrick the job permanently or appoint an outside candidate.
Rashford, according to sources close to the forward, would prefer to stay at Barcelona, but hasn’t ruled out returning to United.
Being reintegrated back into the first-team squad is still considered unlikely and United are actively looking at signing another left winger ahead of the summer window.
With Barcelona still chasing trophies in La Liga and the Champions League, club officials are set to make a decision on whether to proceed with a permanent deal for Rashford at the end of the season.

That’s the right approach. Don’t bend to Barca, let other suites pay if they won’t.

i mean it’s obviously clear barcelona is stacked with good players and if we are truly back to be a champions league club, it’s about time we reevaluate selling to CL rivals

Sick of these stingy clubs trying to get out of paying peanuts for players whom have done well for them. If we were quoting £70m for him then fair enough, renegotiate. But in today’s market they’re already getting a great deal. Just fuck off.

What team would he be good at?

Part of me would like Rashford to cause a problem for Sir Big Jim after the attempts to make him the scapegoat that were lapped up by a certain section of the fan base but he has too much class for that. I don’t think there’s much doubt Barca keep him though.
That said he would immediately be United’s best winger and already has a good relationship with Bruno and the manager.

It also depends on whether Rashford and Barca will take up the Antony/Betis playbook and create a several months long drama to get us to relax our already low asking price. Have to remember we wanted to sell Antony for £30m+ and it would’ve been fair.

I don’t know hot take but I’d rather we use Marcus back in our team if we don’t find another team for him, especially if Carrick stays for next season
Carrick knows him well, and we do need a wide winger to evolve our game and we have other forwards so we don’t have to solely rely on him for goals either

If he is good enough to be an impact sub/ 2nd choice in barca, he is good enough to be that here. They need to pay up the agreed sum, no games.

Love him back but it’s not gonna happen.

Any penny less than the 30mil and Rashford and come back to be Dorgu’s backup at LW.
So what if his wages are high. This will stop other clubs from always fleecing us. It will be worth it to stop this bad trend like Anthony to Betis, and at the same time fix our weak left wing.

Guarantee, the final price will be below 20m initially with add ons taking it to 20m. Add ons like if Barca win the CL or Treble or something or if Rashford scores 30 goals in a season.

We need a left sided winger. I think Rashys chapter at United is closed BUT its not like we wouldn’t have use for him if he and / or Barca try to hardball us on a very reasonable deal they’ve already agreed to.

Keep him if they don’t pay up. We can’t afford 3 CMs and a LW + a CF option as Zirkzee will leave. If we can resolve the issues and ensure complete buy in from Rashy, it’ll be the best option

The question is, is Rashford open to other bids?…

who is going to buy him? He’s unlikely to reduce his wages for anyone other than barca

How much will Barca have to pay for player of similar ability to Rashford if they don’t sign him?

He’s simply worth taking back into the squad at 30 mil…
