Always weirded out when people talk about Ronaldo, his greatness is in La Liga, he’s not that high in the greats list for Prem

Why do people always have to bring in Ronaldo’s laliga time when it comes to prem legacies.

Salah has 8 seasons better than Ronaldo’s 4th best… but Ronaldo has the two best seasons.
Castia10 on
Better legacy in England because he had 8 seasons compared to Ronaldo’s 4 but remember Ronaldo was a kid when he came to England….at that age Salah had pretty much failed and been fucked off to Italy whilst Ronaldo went on to be arguably the GOAT
Still won’t get a better individual season than 08 Ronaldo

This is laughable but par for the course with the British media’s love of Liverpool and hatred of United.
Ronaldo has more premier league trophies as many European Cups and won a Balon D’Or and finished second in another season.
People forget how special Ronaldo was during his first stint at United.

Greatest “premier league player” or, Greatest “player in the premier league”
Stupid rage bait article.
Ronaldo is possibly the greatest ever player to kick a ball.
Salah won feck all with Liverpool so why he comes into the discussion of “greatest premier league player” i dunno.

There’s no doubting Ronaldo and his abilities, he’s in the top 5 players of all time and the order of those 5 can really be argued.
Ronaldo was unbelievable in the Prem for the few seasons he was there and I have no doubts he would have been just as good at United as he was in Madrid had he not made the move. But Salah had a longer peak in the prem and was at the top of his game for a longer period if we’re just looking at time spent in the Prem.
That’s no fault of Ronaldo’s, he moved on to La Liga and became an even better player. Ballon D’or winner is a good yardstick but the credibility of the Ballon D’or now compared to even 10 years ago is down the drain, and Salah had a couple of years where he would’ve been a deserving winner of that as well.
I think when we look back in 10 years time, Salah had a couple of seasons that will be in the argument for greatest ever individual seasons in the Prem – he dragged Liverpool to the title last year pretty much on his own. We may as well appreciate both Ronaldo and Salah, both have Legacies as two of the greatest forwards of the Prem Era and that won’t change.

Rooney was better than Salah and Ronaldo was better than Rooney so maybe not

Ronaldo has more titles but let’s not forget Salah missed out on an additional 2 titles after finishing on 97 points and 92 points. Also, Karius wrecked one UCL final. Both incredible. Saying one has a better legacy doesn’t downplay the others achievements.

Not sure what the debate is about. Salah’s legacy in the premier league is of course greater than Ronaldo’s. As is quite a few other player’s. Entire career is obviously a completely different matter.

Seriously, who cares which of them was better or what they achieved? They were both great players, that’s all that actually matters.
I say “who cares” but it’s hilarious watching people argue like children over it

Carragher wrote this. It’s rather obvious he made the headline to troll United. Ronaldo would have been the best player in Premier League history had he never left United. Everyone knows this. Salah was great. That’s all that needs to be said.

Rage bait for United fans cause even when the story isn’t about us, it has to be about us somehow.
Salah is the better player in PL, stats wise. Ronaldo debuted earlier with much less experience, stayed half the time than Salah, playing at the peak of his entire career in PL. At 37, Ronaldo still managed 0.7 ga/game when he return to the PL in a mediocre United side. Salah only had 0.5 ga/game this season so far, his worst, at 33. You can argue that he may had a fallout with Slot, or simply just a one-off, the same that some would argue Ronaldo was still getting better when he left United the first time – we’ll never find out.
I’d happily take either one at his peak. Or both.
Both deserves PL Hall of Fame.
Cheeky_Star on
Ronaldo spent most of his prime years at Real Madrid and won more there to be honest, so I don’t even think it’s worth comparing.
Even Giggs had a better legacy than Ronaldo and Rooney as well in the EPL.
