  1. It is standard for patients to mark the area with an OR pen when having surgery. Perhaps this should be standard for diagnostic procedures as well.

  2. I mean couldn't Mbappe have told them they didn't scan the wrong knee?? The doctors are to blame for sure but if you have some basic common sense, like say "hey guys you scanned my wrong knee". Especially if you're paid millions to perform at the top professional level, he should've at least mentioned something.

  3. 99 times you grab your coffee from the roof of your car before you drive off. But there's that one time where you operate on the wrong leg. It happens to everybody.

  4. How didn't mbappe mention it to the doctors when they scanned his wrong knee? Why would you be quiet if that happens? Any common sense person would mention it…

  5. I recently had a total knee replacement. It involved numerous doctor appointments, X-rays, a CT scan
then the actual surgery. At each snd every appointment they ASKED & CONFIRMED it was my LEFT KNEE. This is blatant incompetence from both medical professionals & patient.

  6. Real Madrid sports medicine departmant has been under scrutiny the last couple of years. Several players have torn ACL's. Edgar Militao has torn one on each knee. This will add to the department's reputation

  7. "Mr. Mbappe, you're going to be all right."

"Wow, that's a huge relief, thanks doc!"

"I'm impressed you've got such a positive attitude for such horrible news!"

"You just said I'll be all right?!"

"Precisely! I'll need to amputate your left leg."

  9. Nobody comes out of this looking good. The doctors look incompetent and Mbappe looks completely incapable or unwilling to advocate for himself like any functioning adult should.

  10. This honestly sounds like Mbappe is lying about his injury
it seems like he told the doctors it was his left knee so he could keep playing. But it seems someone is lying behind the scenes regardless of who’s lying

  11. My guess is he complained of a knee injury so the doctor sent him to do a scan either MRI or CT scan. They put him inside the tube. They did the scan and sent the results back to the doctor and the doctor says your knee looks fine but he was looking at the wrong leg. Idk I'm just guessing.

  12. I remember when I first shadowed an orthopedic surgeon. For every surgery, he used to draw a giant circle for the area of Surgery. Meanwhile, the the opposite knee, for example, got a giant red X. It seem silly, but he’s never operated on the wrong area

  13. Hi Dr, the MRI people work off the MRI order from the Knee doctor, they talk with patient to confirm. The scan technicians will only do what's on the order and with the patient, if they differ then they would catch it. So did the MRI order show the wrong knee ? Finally, Mbappe is responsible for the mistake !
