Hi everyone, I’m a final-year Geography student doing my dissertation on how Liverpool FC and Everton FC shape identity and sense of place in the city.
I’ve been a Liverpool fan and season-ticket holder for years, so I understand how
important football, especially the Merseyside derby, is to the culture and
identity of the city. That’s exactly what I’m trying to explore in this
research.
I’ve put together a short questionnaire (about 3–4 minutes) and would really
appreciate any responses from Liverpool or Everton fans.
All responses are anonymous, and it’s purely for academic research.
Thanks in advance, happy to share results if people are interested!

Just did a paper on this a few months back! Small world. Best of luck 🙂
Hell yea, this is great. Architect here, Everton fan since 2004. The special dynamics within same city sports rivals is fascinating. Nice work.
Not your fault, but I’m always frustrated in surveys and things like this where my response of not from Liverpool counts the same as someone from the other side of the world, despite being from about 5 minutes outside Liverpool, it being my main place I go for shopping, the cinema, for a pint, and having lived in Liverpool for a lot of my adult life etc. It’d even take me less time to get from my house to the stadium than some people who are born and raised in Liverpool.
I feel like in the spirit of the question I should just say yes, but everything about my upbringing as a wool and my time living in Liverpool doesn’t let me.
Oh also the options are yes, no but from Liverpool, and no but never lived there. I am a no but have lived there, so technically none of the options are right for me.

We didn’t do that, for a start.
