Five wins and two draws would take Celtic to 78 points. Hearts only need four wins and zero draws to reach that amount.

  2. There’s no chance of Celtic winning that many games between now and the end of the season.

To be honest I think third place would be a fair reflection of the season.

I mean I thought it was obvious he was talking shite, and I don’t think anyone including the teams believes this and it’ll show in the performances for the rest of the season!

Is he looking shocked as someone asked him to come out and speak rather than letting poor lukey boy do it?

I suspect six wins would do it, if they include Rangers and Hearts. Five…probably not.

  6. I only need 5 or 6 things to go right for Margot Robbie to join the wife and me for a weekend away in Millport but you don’t hear me yapping about it

  7. Six wins might be enough as long as the defeat isn’t to us or Hearts but five wins won’t be enough.

Presumably those five wins would include beating both Hearts and Rangers. Assuming nobody drops points elsewhere before those games and Rangers also beat Hearts that would put Celtic top. I don’t think Celtic will win the league but there is a long way to go still and pretty sure that there will be more surprise results

  9. Five or six wins if both Hearts and Rangers have a complete collapse. With Shankland back now, Hearts might drop points and lose a couple of games but they won’t collapse and will still win most games.

The scheduling of the fixtures will interesting and when the Celtic Hearts game is. Early on and it’s all to play for but towards them end then Celtic might chuck it.

  10. Getting it with 5 wins for Celtic is probably wishful thinking, or at least would require ridiculous luck. 21 points are left. If Celtic win 5 that’s 15/21, they’d need Hearts to only take 9/21 from that to win cleanly given the goal difference – that would be some collapse and basically go against the form that’s been there all season for both teams. Draws against Hearts and Rangers could bump that up to 17 points…but the problem this year is dropping points against one team risks losing ground against the other. It’s a totally different game than a 2 horse race.

Realistically I think Rangers or Celtic probably need 6 wins with no loses to win this league. Hearts probably do it with 4. The math is firmly with them

    That’s probably true.

Doesn’t mean it’ll happen though. Celtic will do well to win three more games the way we’re currently playing.

All 3 are just below winning 2/3rds of their games.

    Hearts have Livi and Motherwell

    Rangers Dundee United and Falkirk

Celtic have Dundee and St Mirren before the split.

A 5 win streak against Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell, Hibs and Falkirk would be their best form of the season by some distance.

Celtic have the easiest run in to the split, you can see the others dropping points somewhere there. That might compress things. But they just do not have the form to really see them getting more points that the others after it.

cant wait to roll out the “we need 5 or 6 wins in the remaining 2 games” patter when we are officially out the race in a few weeks

Look, Calum has had a great footballing career, there’s nobody expected him to be good at maths.
