[Nizaar Kinsella] There is no suggestion inside Chelsea that Rosenior, who succeeded Enzo Maresca in January when he joined from partner club Strasbourg, is in danger of losing his job, either now or at the end of the season.

I’m hoping this is one of those dreaded vote of confidence articles/headlines before the manager is sacked.

Of all the problems Chelsea have, and there is many, he is very far down the list.
His LinkedIn status hasn’t changed so he’s here to stay I guess

It going to be a very tough few weeks.

Let Chelsea drop outside of Europe and let’s see if that stands. We have 21 points available. What’s success? 15 points?

i guess blueco and the pr team are confident that Chelsea can still qualify for champions league place, but I don’t know…

I didn’t have a problem with Rosenior when he first joined because even tho we were shipping goals, our attack looked great.
But now we can’t score and are still leaking goals. Plus the GK switch debacle didn’t help him either.
I don’t think he’s the main issue at the club (that’s the ownership with their recruitment and policy on not buying proven leaders) but he’s not helping himself lately. If he doesn’t secure CL football he should be sacked imo

I still support Liam, however I do not know if it is possible for him to continue long term. He has already reached meme levels that usually need years for a manager to reach.

It will have to get worse for them to admit they fucked up, simple as that. The real issue is that if it gets worse, the same people will still be allowed to dig us into an even deeper hole.

Will the disgruntled fans believe this or what was put out about Enzo?
Not likely. They are really just upset about the recent results. Improve form, improve their attitude.

Part of me would like him to get a fair chance with a pre-season.
If he wants a ball playing keeper then sign one. We also importantly need a leader-type at CB.

He’s the type of guy to come in the dressing room to give a speech at half time and you just hear “shut the fuck up Specky!” from the back of the room.

We heard the same with the last managers but if it’s possibly true how can they not see this guy is drowning atm? He’s so far out of his depth it’s unreal

If we don’t make champions league that will change very quickly so people need to not overreact

Worst news of the day.
But on the bright side it means we definitely finish the season empty handed and without Europe which was what we hopefully need to change ownership and get some fools sacked

Are they really going to keep him if he doesnt get CL?
Sack before the end of the season seems pretty unlikely, sure.

I’m not sure why the narrative around him has changed so quick. We’re in a bad run of form, but we were also in a bad run of form before he got here. He still hasn’t had much time on the training ground, and has had multiple cup games playing a rotated side, played the defending UCL champs with a top 3 attack itw with the same defense we’ve all been complaining about all season (minus James in the second leg), played the best defense in the league with half our wingers out injured, and has had both GKs he’s tried let us down with bad mistakes in multiple games.
We’ve seen sparks of the direct attacking approach he played at Strasbourg, and in the games where they’ve bored me to death I’ve seen players not even lifting their heads when someone’s making a run in behind, Palmer throw fits at Enzo or Neto for getting in the way, JP taking an extra touch or two and wasting a chance. If they’re being told to do that, then yes Rosenior needs to go, but I find it hard to believe he’s simultaneously telling half the team to make positive, direct runs, and the other half to ignore their teammates.

it’s not fully on him of course but i think it’s also fair to say he isn’t the guy for the future

I feel like I’m not on my own in this vibe for minimum, the next 6 years of this ownership. “Wake me when you need me” Master Chief circa. 2552

Arguably the worst Chelsea coach of the last twenty years. (not including Potter, he had a too ridiculous situation).
