Are Manchester United about to sign Newcastle’s captain Bruno Guimaeres? Well, I think its fair to say we’re interested in the idea of bringing him to Old Trafford.

Let me cover the full story of the Bruno to United links that have developed a lot over this last week, what’s been reported and by who, plus we discuss the prospect of Bruno to United with the pros and cons of any move.

  1. Tonali wants to return to Italy, Anderson going to City, we will bring in an experienced CM and I’ll bet we’ll bring in a development CM, the kid Scott from Bournemouth worth a look, and Bruno G needs no development to drop right in

  2. I rate both midfielders, and my preference would be Tonali, but if I had to take 1 player from Newcastle this summer I think it would have to be Livramento.

We need better full backs, and this lad can play RB and LB equally well and would be a real step up in class.

There are enough midfield targets not at Newcastle who would help us upgrade ours this summer.

  3. I first thought it was fake news when the story first broke. As the week wore on, it was everywhere. I prefer Tonali, but Guimaraes would be a good signing. Bring Baleba, Mateus Fernandez, and Gomes from Wolves. That would be a good transfer window for our midfield.

  4. Bruno Guimarães is a very, very good player and a leader. If Man United inquire about him they must see him as key player that can elevate them to a title level. To spend big on a 29 year old midfielder they must see something that is key for the title build. I like him a lot and and I get the feeling that he is a big club player.

  5. There might have been reps between player and united.

But this United arent paying 60-70m pounds for a 29yr old (he will be in nov?) Imo.

And ive never seen him have a good game, admittedly i havent seen much but you known when you watch someone a 5-10 times and they just dont stand out? Thats him for me.

Same with Sancho, i just never saw him against a good team stand out. Didnt see it.

  6. Guimarães 60 million, bargain. Kone coming through for next 2 years. plus mainoo, and elliot. top midfeild options. we got an exciting youth development going on. so for 60 mil, plus less cassemero wages, ugarte gone. i reckon thats some deal.

  7. If it's 60mil, i am neutral, not favor or against it.

But remember he will effectively be 29, then if i am gonna be a bit harsh, that means effectively we will have his 3 years at top level when he reached 32yo-33yo, it's gonna tied to what's United's actual aim in that 3 years span? I think the board will think of these things as well.

  8. When you have a chance, take a look at a midfielder called Danilo, who plays in the Brazilian league for Botafogo. He might not be an immediate replacement for Casemiro, but he would be a great addition to United's squad.

  9. I rate bruno g very highly but if we go for him in 2-3 years we need to go back into the market again for a starting cdm instead of investing that money into multiple young players

  10. I think we will not be going for Bruno G and i hope not. Wharton and Gomes for 100 M. And then we move to left back (lewis hall / cucurella) lastly right footed winger. so around 250M transfer spent i guess?

  11. Elliott Anderson is so overrated but that's something you'd expect from English media. Man United would do good with Baleba. He's got the grit of Ngolo Kanté.

  12. Why's no one talking about wharton anymore? Is there a legit reason for him to be out of the picture or is this just people focusing more on new stories?

  13. I would much prefer someone younger in the role but the more I think about it, the more it is absolutely essential to have a leader in centre midfield. Kobbie Mainoo is a young superstar in the making, if he is to develop into the player we all think he can be, he needs a Casemiro, a Roy Keane, a Bruno Guimarães next to him, a no nonsense, hard working, lead by example leader who will teach him how to be world class.

Players like Carlos Baleba, Elliott Anderson, Eduardo Camavinga and Adam Wharton in a bubble are far superior options for the amount of years we can get back at a high level but Bruno Guimarães fits the bill immediately and changes the outlook of this United team day one Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo right away changed United's attack but they also brought so much stability, experience and leadership to the team.
