I remember being a wee lad being taken to Ibrox (and Kilbowie in Clydebank as we lived nearby, maybe Motherwell too) when he died and the massive outlay of scarves, tops, flowers etc really sticks in my memory. A sea of blue of course but I always remember the stuff from not only the other teams he played with but even the rivals being mixed in there too with nice messages on them. One of the few moments from my childhood where the more negative side of the fandoms disappeared and it felt like all of Scottish football came together to respect the passing of a great.
