These kind of stats is what we need. Not those sloth army xg stats, xg standing, imaginary outcome.

  2. Found it interesting how the tnt commentators mentioned the midfield individuals compared to previous years, and yet that’s the area that’s unchanged compared to last season.

  3. Holy sh*t.  Get Slot and his crew the hell out of here please.  It’s so embarrassing squandering the talent on this squad.

  4. Klopps Liverpool scoring at the death, picking up points in those situations vs Slots Liverpool doing the opposite. You make your own “luck” when you’re the team that’s ready to push on late. We’re always holding on by a thread late in games. Conditioning is not there and that’s a direct result of the manager, there is not the emphasis on conditioning and pressing that there should be.

From the most energetic and hardworking midfielders in klopp’s era to this sh*t. Fcking embarrassing

Every single game this season, even the ones we won, we have looked so unfit and lethargic.

Even if you put running stats aside, our players lose 50/50 duels so often that the moment an opposition player is even near us, I expect us to lose the ball.

We need some serious strength and conditioning, no idea what Slot has the lads doing in training.

  7. What do you expect when you have a manager who prefers a smaller squad, is horrible at rotating players and seemingly is more interested in flying of to Ibiza than doing a full week of practice

  8. I’ve been saying it all season: none of our players or the first team squad, is remotely fit enough, both physically and mentally this season. So there is clearly an issue with Slot and his staff because there is no excuse for elite level players and one of the biggest clubs in world football to be this unfit and unprepared.

Don’t look at our running stat for the 21/22 season it might shock you

  10. I don’t think we need to see the early Klopp Geggenpressing but this team is lethargic at trying to win the ball back other than a select few people. It’s pathetic right now. No urgency, no concentration, no determination.

  11. crevezchiens on

Isn’t it normal to run less if you have the ball more? We have the highest possession in the league…

  12. how did Newcastle outrun us in the 2nd game of the season they had 10 men for 45 mins

  13. That’s the beauty of letting Vvd and Konate endlessly pass the ball sideways to each other without moving. You just don’t have to run a lot.

  14. imarasnothere on

I used to be so proud seeing how much they ran and pressed under Klopp.

Everything has been undone just like that.

  15. I think we have a major lack of athleticism in the squad right now. I think this is one of our biggest problems this season. The physicality/intensity in the league is at an all time high, meanwhile we’re carrying the likes of Gakpo, Macca, Salah, and Van Dijk. Ekitike also doesn’t cover a lot of ground. Szobo has probably been our only consistent stater this season who actually has an engine on him and can compete physically, which sort of explains why he seems to be performing so well this season. We can’t even compete with the athleticism of teams like wolves.

This also kind of explains why we’ve generally been better in the CL as well.

This could be one of the more obvious fixes in premier league history, at least, which is fitness levels and work ethic. We’re in need of a new standard and a much improved training regiment

They are not good going forward. They can’t defend worth a damn. They can’t hold or win possession. And they are not fit.

Our best attribute is passing backwards.

Who in their right mind would pay to see a team play like that?

  18. wanderluster88 on

That’s a damning statistics. Only outran a team with 10 men for 2/3 of the game and a bus parker earlier in the season.
I genuinely wonder what data our data nerds are using to justify keeping Slot.

  19. Due_Young800 on

Pretty obvious to the eye that there is not enough energy and there’s a lot of walking around hoping the next guy will take a risk.

Also very clear that our only source of entertainment is waiting 65 minutes of shit footy before Rio gets subbed on and we hope he can dribble 3 of them then put in an inch perfect cross that someone can bury. All whilst hoping our opponents don’t score piss easy goals against crap defending (they will)

  20. Icy_Assumption791 on

    And we’re skipping training sessions.

Pretty sure Ox was saying how intense our training used to be and it seemed easier to run in actual games.

  21. I’d be interested to see a table showing the total running distance of each Premier League player in all competitions this season. I suspect the problem, as Slot suggests, is that he has had very little choice in who to select so our players are overworked.

  22. 12animosity13 on

Imagine what Hansi Flick would do with this team. Either the players would turn into tanks or hold press conferences every week.

  23. Successful_Title6922 on

All this is fine if we have more possession and make proper use of that possession. But we are useless in possession with meaningless side passes and totally incompetent in front of goal.

  24. Unhappy-Air6832 on

Well I guess that destroys the theory that more possession means less running

  25. Its taken Slot just 2 years to coach out everything Klopp worked a decade to bring back to the club. Get him gone

  26. Lol, I still remember last year, when most of this sub was glazing Slot’s less intense approach while taking shots at Klopp, claiming his style was why we had so many injuries. You could not say anything bad about this guy, he was “so intelligent” in his interviews and “so good tactically”.

Typical Reddit fan behavior; worship the new toy and downplay everything that came before.

    Supposedly our next Paisley lol.

  27. ash_ninetyone on

Usually being outrun isn’t an issue if you play sit deep, play counter attacking.

But when your entire style is supposed to be based on possession and winning the ball back early, you need to be closer in metrics than that

What did Klopp also get quoted at? “I know it’s not the most important statistic but I love when I hear we ran more than the opponent”
