Imagine gerrard playing under klopp. The trio of gerrard-hendo-fabinho would win us lot more trophies. Not as hardworking as the original trio but would be more creative, more goals and more exciting

And some people in this sub who must be younger than 4 think Szobo is his equal.

    Absolutely daft.

We can’t just stop disregarding the garbage that comes out of this guys mouth because he says something we agree with

Wayne Rooney turned into a perfectly round globe so slowly I didn’t even notice

You take any top premier league midfielder (Scholes, De Bruyne, Lampard, Viera) and try and get them to replicate what Gerrard did in those Liverpool squads at the time, and they wouldn’t be able to do it. Put Gerrard in any of their squads and he would massively improve their team.

Not sure that there’s another name who comes close in this category. Maybe Keane for his time period.

Scholes/Carrick’s inclusion there is laughable. Scholes a complete midfielder? Come on. Incredible footballer but absolute turnstile defensively and not nearly the athlete that Stevie was. Carrick could play his role and that’s it – put him as a more dynamic 8 or 10 and he’d look wank.

  7. The fact that he mentions Carrick in a conversation including Lampard, Gerrard and Viera is mindblowing 🤣

Am I wrong in saying that Gerrard and Wayne were actually quite good mates when they were still active? I swear I saw them being quite chummy in the England camp

So many ex-players and legends of the game pick Gerrard as their favourite midfielder, or the player they wished they’d played with, or their hardest opponent. Even Man U legends who played against Gerrard in those bitter rivalries say he’s the best of the lot.

Yet you’ll still get some numpty called Callum trying to claim that Declan Rice is better than him.

I am always GENUINELY baffled at the discourse around Stevie by Prem fans. He could literally do everything – dribble, pass, run, tackle, shoot, lead, etc. – better than anyone else on the pitch in a majority of the games he played. For folks obsessed with the “eye test” these days, they clearly didn’t watch him play enough. He made me love both football and Liverpool.

Not the first time he’s said this about Gerrard and I assume it won’t be the last. He rates Gerrard very highly. He’s even been asked before to answer the question or choose in a debate of who’s the better footballer between Gerrard Lampard and Scholes and even though that could be perceived to be the same question because of what you’re basing it on to get that answer and he still picks Gerrard.
