  1. AverageCarey on

It’s just the right decision. He captained the Italian youth squad at the World Cup so he already has an understanding of pressure and in his few appearances you can see the quality.

Yes he plays things a little safe but I believe that’s the best choice, you could see against Augsburg he gained more confidence as the game went on and after he scored his goal he was really shining. He looks to progress the ball forward, he has some good dribbling in tight spaces and his overall positioning is really good.

If we have Anton, Schlotti, Mane and Reggiani for next season that’s a great backline along with the additions over the summer.

I get no greater joy than seeing our youth have the ability to move up to the first squad. Now I just hope we get Mane back after the break and allow Inacio some more minutes and ideally a debut for Albert at some point.

  2. Good players simply make the leap to the pros at some point; there’s nothing unusual about that, and there’s no need to get all hyped up about it. Every professional was 18 at some point. The coaches believed in him, and he is delivering.

  3. I’m happy for him. He made some blatant mistakes in his games, where he was caught off guard because he was pulled out of position too easily. The Leipzig game in particular was rough for him, but I’m sure he’ll learn from those errors and improve.

  4. Always satisfying to see a player from the youth ranks integrate with the senior squad. Any positive impact is more wurst and gravy to me
