Tottenham players covered 116.3 km against Atlético — slightly less than Liverpool and more than Fulham away from home.

On average, we cover around 108 km per match under Thomas Frank, while it’s close to 115 km under Igor Tudor.

There is clear improvement.

Possibly the difference between a proactive pressing team versus a static, low block surrender team.

Movement is much more fluid too.

.I fully support Tudor over Frank. I think Tudor is the guy who can give a push to everyone so they can fight for the team.

But, the players run a lot in CL under Frank too. vs PSG, we run 116km. Frankfurt 113km too.
And arguably, when the players start to run more since the end of 2025 too, and injuries start to culminate.

Again, not to be mistaken, I fully support Tudor approach over Frank.

  3. “Frank wasn’t the problem” is a growing narrative I’ve been seeing, and it makes me seethe. Perhaps they weren’t watching week in week out, but it was genuinely some of the most dreadful watches I’ve ever had in this sport.

We weren’t set up to be a defensive unit, and we weren’t set up to be a great attack unit, so what does that make us? Exactly. Nothing. NO identity. NO patterns. NO chemistry. Sacked him way too late objectively.

Honestly it’s clear something stuck the last couple games even just in terms of positivity on the pitch. Starting to think Tudors awful start was a hangover from the dross we had under Frank. It was clear against Madrid that we had been coached into being more attacking and direct. I don’t think in any world Tudor is the long term manager here but I have a lot more faith now that his ideas are translating to the players and we’ve gotten out of the negative football mindset they were so clearly in

I was opposed to appointing Tudor and I still am opposed to giving him a long term contract, but it’s undeniable that things have improved a bit. Hard to differentiate how much of that is Tudor specifically vs how much is just getting rid of a locker room downer like Frank. I’d love to be proven wrong on Tudor.

Did somebody else do fitness at Brentford too? What a disastrous hire Frank was. Followed closely by the disastrous decision not to cut bait on him in mid-November
