  1. What’s that, I hear? 80 for Bruno G and 90 for Tonali? In the same summer? From Newcastle? Seems too good to be true. I’d love both, though; a midfield of Tonali, Bruno G and Bruno F would do mad things to this league.

Not sure I really care what Casemiro wants. There’s a good chance he’s too close to look at it objectively

    **From the article, Translated:**

    >Bruno Guimarães’ future remains uncertain and will likely continue until the World Cup , but **the midfielder is on Manchester United ‘s radar and could move to another Premier League club ,** according to ESPN .

    >Injured and therefore absent from the Brazilian national team ‘s list that will face France and Croatia during the March FIFA international break, the Brazilian midfielder is part of a potential list of reinforcements for next season, along with three other names.

    >**There is still no offer from the Old Trafford team to Newcastle , but ESPN has learned that a transfer would only occur if United were willing to pay between 75 and 80 million euros,** equivalent to R$ 483 million at the current exchange rate.

    >Internally, Bruno has immense support: from the man with whom he will form a partnership in the next World Cup. Leaving United, as he announced weeks ago , **Casemiro has, according to ESPN , been pushing behind the scenes to make the transfer happen.**

    >**Bruno Guimarães was even suggested by his compatriot to be his replacement in Manchester. Casemiro’s word is gaining weight, although the negotiation is not that advanced.**

    >The two clubs should wait a few weeks before speeding up talks. On a high in the Premier League, United is well-positioned to secure one of the Champions League spots , while Newcastle, having a poor season, already knows it will not be competing in any European tournament.

I just dont see us spending £70m+ on a soon-to-be 29-year-old…it doesnt matter how good Bruno G is, that is the exact kind of transfer INEOS said they dont want to make.

  5. As much as it would be amazing to get him. Him being 30 soon doesn’t bode well especially since we’re not 1-2 years away from the rest of the team being able to contend for the title. I think it’ll likely be 3-4 years at the earliest so we should aim for players at max 26yrs so they are able to peak with the rest of the squad

  6. idk I think we can use an experienced midfielder especially with Case leaving, of course in addition to another younger one.

  7. If we can only get one of them, I would prefer Tonali, personally. He takes such control of the game in the midfield and I feel that’s the single largest component we’re missing.

With 50 plus games in a season. It is better to sign players between 22 to 25 years of age. Cause they can play for atleast 5 more years.

Plus it’s not like United can afford to lose matches like Brighton. So signing Anderson/Wharton for 100m makes much more sense than signing Guimares for 80m.

With his age, it seems like he’d be coming in as “Casemiro plus 2-3 seasons.”

Not our typical buying strategy. Even at keeper, we prioritize youth and potential. But we’d get his final full contract in his peak.

I personally bias towards younger players, but an experienced Brazilian NT starter who knows the EPL very well sounds like a fabulous addition with Casemiro (and Maguire likely) leaving.

  10. Insane money for a 29 year old (In November). His wages would also be pretty high. As much as like Casemiro, I would rather not get into the same situation.

People will scoff at his age but that position is so important that we can’t risk throwing someone inexperienced there. If we get 4 good years out of him for 70m euros that’s an absolute steal

  12. 2 years ago, yes. Think he could be another who regresses at 30. Maybe 2 years of pretty much guaranteed top level play be worth it but he’s injured now a good while. 50m be a good middle ground but they’d never sell for that.
