Wouldn’t it better to sign a RB. Someone who can come on when Nunes is unable to play?

Both are expensive. Anderson would be better.

I’d take both if Rodri left but I don’t want that

anderson. he solves a lot of the problems. and plus we’d see a lot more games of nico g and rodri on the same pitch when we sign him.

  4. This sub: Nico G doesn’t play enough.

This sub: O’Reilly needs to start more in midfield

This sub: Reijndeers needs to start more.

This sub: Cherki needs to start more.

Also this sub: Let’s sign more midfielders

  5. If both Rodri and Silva leave then I want both. If only Silva leaves then get Anderson.

United are rumoured to be in for Tonali, that’s a bidding war we don’t need

  7. Totally different players, its not like they are substitute for each other

Anderson is similar to rodri, deep playmaker while tonali is a proper b2b 8

Tonali is a special player. I wanted him when he left AC Milan. I’d go for him if we only need one midfielder. Both him and Anderson if we need two.

As others have said Rodri may leave with Bernardo this summer. That’s the vibe I’m getting at least. He doesn’t look happy for months now.

  9. Tonali is budget Anderson, class player, I’d say just as good currently but Elliot has the higher ceiling and he’s English (HG quota), if the club doesn’t want to break the bank, Tonali is a solid solid option

  10. Anderson. Here is a chart showing how he ranks on key metrics vs. other PL midfielders this season.

My only concern is that Pep is often very slow to “onboard” incoming DMs because he is so demanding and specific in what he wants from them. If Pep stays next season (admittedly, there’s a big question mark about that) and Anderson arrives as a no 6, I doubt he will be allowed to venture as far forward as he does at Forest. That means his chance creation will probably drop off.

What’s odd is that from a defensive standpoint in the PL, Nico G has performed as well as Anderson. Nico’s defensive contributions are 87th vs 76th percentile for Anderson (and a relatively mediocre 61st percentile for Rodri, who is seemingly undroppable now that he’s back from injury.) Nico ranks 90th vs 87th percentile for Anderson on aerial duels won, 97th vs 96th percentile on touches, and 45th percentile, only a tad below Anderson’s 48th percentile, on goals.

Despite Nico G’s defensive strengths, Pep has mothballed him at City. At one point, Pep was critical of him, saying he runs too much, and Pep clearly prefers a rusty, somewhat sluggish Rodri, even though City’s form was better than it is now back when Nico G was regularly starting. If City buys Anderson, I suspect Nico G. will request a transfer, which is likely to be granted because he’s clearly good enough to be a starter at many other clubs.

  11. I’ve heard Napoli have a pretty good midfielder. Maybe we could go for him instead?
