Why are people surprised? Becks wasn't even the best player in our midfield. Becks fame has far outshone his ability and people are looking back with rose tinted glasses. Giggs, Keane and Scholes were indispensable, Becks (as good as he was, and he really was) was not.
I think Beckham is better for a great United team, but Iād take Bruno in an average United team. Beckham is more of a complimentary piece, Bruno is a talisman

David Beckham was ahead of time.. if he played in a midfield 3 in a Debryne or Lampard role his stats would of been a lot more impressive..

Bruno is the best and only world class player in the team now. But back then, Man Utd had 6-7 world class players.

Becks was a GOAT and a big game player, and world class every game. Bruno can have the odd terrible game.
