Simons is about to shoot and Julián Álvarez just barges him off the ball. Nothing given….we all know what happens next.
If that foul gets called that goal literally never happens. And VAR can't even be bothered to have a look?
Champions League football usually has a lower threshold for physical contact from what I remembered.
What is actually the point of VAR if not for moments like this?
I've watched it back so many times now and I genuinely don't get how this isn't given.

It’s a foul against anyone but us
white shirt, not a foul
Would be a 5-4 tie rn if this got called and the phantom foul Alvarez bought in the first leg wasn’t
100% a foul, and directly leads to their goal, what is VAR for of it can’t correct that
Lookman’s punch on Dragusin as well. It’s a clear red. Imagine if Romero did that
That was such bullshit
It’s unreal. I usually fall back on everyone gets fucked at some point and it more or less evens out. But this season feels like we are always on the wrong side of every call
That’s 100% a foul. He didn’t even try to play the ball…
VAR = Visiting Atletico Referee
Real shame… we get one of these per game recently and that’s all it takes to swing it
Ref has literally given a foul to At. Madrid for every tiny bit of contact and Xavi hasn’t gotten a single free-kick all game.
Even worse cause he’s fallen for every single one of their dives
One of the excuses I heard from last weekend was that it’s not a foul if they still get a shot off.
Red card to Romero……
If Xavi does that to a defender trying to clear the ball in the box we all know what the refs doing.
Refereed differently
Should have been but not surprised it wasn’t given, these mf refs see a foul like this happening against someone like simons and they already have an excuse on why it isn’t a foul because “he’s just to weak”
Right before their 2nd goal, Romero did the exact same thing and they got a freekick. They got a corner from that freekick and scored off of it.
I dont remember us having a penalty. I mean, who is our penalty taker post Kane?
Blatant foul, not sure how the Atletico player got away with that!!
Ref literally called the same fouls against us in the first half…
The way the ref was calling them for the other side, yes
Same contact that was given a foul between Spence and Grizzi
Led straight to there goal , robbed tonight we were
I’m just fucked over the commentators saying repeatedly, “Tottenham fans will feel they had a foul there.”! No actual acknowledgement, just a dismissal.
We even saw the EXACT same foul of Griezmann in the first half, and the ref gave it.
Ref gave a foul against Spence for a softer shoulder challenge than this earlier in the match, then let this one go, and VAR did too. Directly leading to a goal.
Well depends.
If you’re an athletico player, yes always a foul. Yellow card, whatever you want.
You just know they are targeting Xavi as he’s seen as a bit soft.
Typical. Three bad goals first leg and this in the second leg = 4 goals that were avoidable. Should have been 5 – 3 on agg.. as long as they bring this fight to prem we should be ok 🙏🍀
It’s such an obvious foul, and absolutely mental that VAR doesnt give it afterwards, when the counter leads to a goal.. only happens to Spurs.
All depends if you’re an English team or not. It’s very subjective!!
And people have the audacity to say the ref didnt fuck us
very happy with our performance today bar Sarr, was very slow in the mid (meanwhile Gray was absolutely bossing it) and also him snoozing on the second Atleti goal, had that not gone in, the last 3 mons would have been insane at 5-6, and also us having 2 crazy chances at the and there with RKM and the one more i forgot
Compare it to Alvarez’s dive the previous week….
Bro both in the PL and in champions league the ref have been against us.
Yeah, look at Spence on Griezmann earlier in this very game.
Apparently not a foul says Owen Hargreaves
I can’t get my head around the pundits saying its not a foul. I just cant comprehend it being viewed that way.
I’m hoping Romero leaves. And in his final game he two footed drop kicks a ref in his chest because god damn we get no calls.
This is so obvious and just terrible from the official. So gross.
Djed did exactly this and it was a foul.
The most baffling thing for me is that the commentators always say it’s not a foul every single time something like this has happened to us.
Someone needs to find the shoulder barge challenge on Griezmann in the first half that was almost identical to this by Kolo Muani (I think), which was given as a foul.
Thats the shit that boils my piss. Ref had already set the stall out that a shoulder barge is a foul, and then decides this one isn’t.
Anyway, they’ll get battered by Barcelona.
I love how he does not even look at the ball.
Im an Arsenal fan, and even I was absolutely livid at that not being given. Hate seeing teams get screwed regardless of who it is, horrible for the game. You guys have really been on the wrong side of some fuckery
