We can be proud of the effort to get to this stage, but the season has been a disaster and its getting worse.

We've conceded 88 goals in all games this season, with 43 of those coming in 2026.

I know Eddie is untouchable for the majority in this sub, but I think it would be best if we parted ways with him this Summer, because there is no defending this. Any other manager in the world would be under intense pressure.

He's done remarkable things, but a team is a reflection of its manager, and this team is in need of an overhaul

Less than 2 goals a game. Not good by any stretch but we have played five more games than second

  2. We have also played more games than any other club in the top 5 leagues this season (and so presumably this calendar year as well), to be fair

The next manager will almost certainly be worse than Howe though.

    Firing him would be dumb.

  4. We play high risk high press football. Previous seasons we had the defence to manage but for whatever reason we’ve made a lot of silly mistakes leading up to conceding.

Stop letting Burn or Thiaw step up. They are always fucking miles out of position. Like 15 yards into the opposition half, get the ball played around them and then we are wide open. It’s happened so many times.

  6. It would be good if sober analysis of this could be done, rather than “Howe Out!” reactionary nonsense…

You’ll notice how the number in the first column is quite a lot higher too?

Do the points by game and the picture will be a little different. I was at Chelsea on Saturday and wouldn’t swap with them.

I’m flying home from Barcelona tomorrow and back at work on Friday, and I certainly didn’t hear much dissent against Howe in the stands or concourse from those actual loyal fans who’d spent best part of a grand
(all in) to watch that second half

    Lies, damned lies and statistics.

Wolfsburg, Metz and Elche are worse if extrapolated.

    Piss off.

Where were you when we beat Chelsea away, beat an in-form Man United with 10 men? Look at the fucking games played! We’ve played more than any team in the top 5 leagues all season!

Your last post was a month ago berating so-called ‘happy clappers’. Quiet when we play well but loud when there’s something to moan about. Is that supporting a club?

Go support Man City if winning is all that matters to you. Oh wait, they also lost by a wide margin to an elite Spanish team. Guardiola must be too shite for you as well.

Sorry to pick on you but there are so many fucking moaners in here!

  10. Not sure if all falls on Eddie…

We get in Thiaw but lose Lascelles, persevere with an injury prone back line, horribly fail to replace a keeper who is now a total liability, and continue with really limited depth across our defence. We’ve pissed away all of the Isak proceeds on absolute garbage and that’s partly because they were too slow in moving the rat on and failed to get a sporting director in.

I don’t even understand why our defence has dropped off from one of the best a couple seasons ago to whatever the fuck this season has been.

  12. We’ve played way more games than anyone else with comfortably the hardest fixture list in the world in 2026. I wouldn’t read much into a flawed rankings like this.

  13. Surely our two best fullbacks being out with injuries makes this a bit more understandable? We’ve had a 35 year old Trippier playing every week, and Burn at LB occasionally

That sounds far worse than it is. Unless we can get a truly elite manager (we can’t) we are teething. This is part of the journey. We strengthen in the summer, we keep trying to qualify for Europe, we keep building experience. We sell key players like Tonali and Hall and we reinvest. We don’t have decades of experience and income to bounce back from rough latches like Liverpool Arsenal and Man United and we don’t have infinite spending power like Chelsea and Man City.

It feels awful because yes, we won’t finish in top 4 consecutively very often, we won’t win a bunch of trophies, we’ll lose players we love. But for a club loke purs, we’re doing really really well. Look at Tottenham.
