it really looks like it’s going to happen

Short summary: Kehl wants him, Ricken agreed and even Kovac on board. BVB hasn’t approached him directly yet but are receiving positive feedback from his inner circle.

let the discussion begin. (again)

  1. Maybe try him as a 10? I really liked how we played last game though, he might work in a 2 striker formation.

  2. As reported, it would be 7 million a year and a free transfer then its worth it taking a shot .

  3. Bring him Home!
I think he will fit perfectly at out 3-4-2-1 system. Sancho is a classic winger, but I think he can also fit perfect behind out Future striker, hopefully guirassy

  4. It would do absolutely nothing to change my already negative opinion on our squad building

There is no footballing merit to sign Sancho. Being on a free is not a good reason to sign someone who has delivered Jacob Bruun Larsen numbers ever since he left the club.

If they do, this is blatant incompetence. Sancho is washed. I like the guy, but it’s obvious that the talent crushers at United killed whatever spark was inside him that allowed his football genius to shine. His last really good season was 20/21 and we’re talking about signing him for 26/27. On average he has contributed 5 goals and assists combined per season in league competitions since he first left BVB. And without some miracle I don’t see that changing if he came back to us. Better to go all in on Inacio and Albert instead.

  6. Oh cmon I love jadon but no just no

He’s not good enough to change the whole System for

    Let’s just move on already

If we get him with no extra costs…

I just cant believe people would rather pray for a washed sancho than a young Talent

Why are we so obsessed with bringing players back ?

No other club does it like us.

It didn’t work with Kagawa, Götze and only partially with Hummels.
Sahin is tied for me, he didnt work as a coach though.

Wouldn’t be against it, on a free and reasonable wages surely he can give something for us. He showed it the last time here that although he’s not on the same level as he was before going to United, he can still ball when put in a good environment for him to enjoy the game.

And on an emotional level, he’s one of my favorite BVB players, so I’d defo get my next jersey with Sancho #10.

  10. So we decided to let Brandt and Süle go in an attempt to rebuild the squad and the club and are asking for more consistency only to bring Sancho back again? He is a player whose career and performances have constantly stagnated or declined since he left us. Kehl will lose any remaining goodwill if he does this and it doesn’t work out, which I just don’t see happening.

His contract should be extremely performance-based: a low base salary, a high appearance bonus, and substantial bonuses for goals, assists, and the secondary assist.

  12. I have been begging for this for so so long, but this report seems like bs.

They’re saying Kovac moved away from wingers after gittens was sold and we didn’t get a replacement, but gittens barely played in his last 6 months. I don’t remember kovac ever using wingers for a prolonged period.

Either way i’m desperate for Sancho to join. Wonder if he takes #10 or #11

  13. As a fan, I couldn’t care less about money. But I think the club lacks the right mindset and has no vision for the future. Replacing Brandt with Sancho strikes me as far too uninspired. He doesn’t bring significantly more to the table than Brandt. I’m neither for nor against it, but I don’t have a good feeling about it. It certainly doesn’t spark any enthusiasm.

I mean, why not? In our current system – assume we keep playing it – we have basically 2 CM and 2 AMF who are also supposed to go wide if the situation calls for it. You need both playmaking ability when you have to drop deep to open space and finishing ability when you go behind – and Sancho has both. And he can beat people 1v1 in tight spaces but always actually lacked the top speed to take advantage of opportunities on the counter on the wings against really pacey defenders. He’s comfortable in all those positions and our front 2 have that freedom and I believe he thrives when given more freedom. Idk why people insist he’s a ‘pure winger’ (whatever that’s supposed to be), Just look at his skill set and tell me what he lacks to play that role?

The 7 mil is a guess by BILD. Who’d pay him that? he has no leverage and we need to use that to make a truly incentivized contract a reality. Give him 10-12 mil when the performance calls for it fulfilling all sorts of incentives for all I care but the base salary should not go beyond 5 mil. And we need a proper contract length as well – not come here, get playing time, showcase yourself and sign a bigger contract elsewhere.

And some people here act as if we didn’t have a super early Cup and CL exit and could even afford some expensive players. This guy is free and we know he knows how to play. We would have to pay 30-40 mil to take a gamble on someone who’d be comparable. But our limited budget is probably better utilized getting a proper 3rd CB because Mane seems injury prone so far and Schlotti might be gone and you can’t pin all your hopes on Reggiani working out – but even if he does, you still need depth.

We’re like the lovestruck ex that cant get over their partner and are waiting for their marriage to fall apart so u can pounce on em

  16. In many discussions they say that the last return didn’t work out. I don’t really agree with that. I feel like especially in the champions league he showed some great performances. I feel like Kovac could make him work. If so, he’s better than Brandt. For 1 Mio less per year (if the reported numbers are accurate). Sounds good to me

This is why no CAM is being “prioritized” by the board as per Ricken. Because Sancho is the solution, he’s going to take Brandt’s spot move into that same bridge role being still slightly younger (25) than Brandt (29). And the wings are going to be built around Sancho with youth talent.
