Because he’s probably always had a side eye to La Liga at some point in his career. Which is fine, players have career goals for themselves no different than the rest of us.

So when things aren’t going well here it’s always an available well to drill, journalistically speaking.

This is not just a poor run of form. Its a culmination of poor business and sporting decisions. And a lot of this is also blown up by context. But if he chooses to leave, its an indictment of our ability to now keep talent at the club

  3. Probably because he told ESPN Argentina he doesn’t know if he’ll be at the club past the World Cup.

And honestly, I don’t blame him.

  4. Can we blame him? It could be Palmer, Caicedo, Cucurella or Joao Pedro next in line to leave.

    He’s gone this summer.

But he still has like 6 years left on his contract so I’m unsure who will pay that much.

Poor run of form? When we had some poor results under Maresca there was never any discussion of him leaving. He’s clearly well and truly fed up with this “project” and the lack of success because of the owners

Because Elite footballers shouldn’t have to deal with bad results due to mediocre teammates

  8. Anyone that actually speaks Spanish have an opinion on what he said? All I’m relying on is what I’m being told he said which is often mistranslated and taken out of context

  9. The way things are going I’d support his Reece and Coles decision to leave. This club is being ran into the dirt. Wish I could visit the other two realities and see where we were as a club with the others that got denied ownership.

  10. The ownership sucks and it ain’t like they’re paying top dollar. If Real Madrid comes knocking, I’m picking Spain over England as a 20something year old single millionaire

Because he’s tired like all of us… we have no CBs, 200M spent on wingers, Liam Delap, and if we do sell him, it will be profitable ensuring BlueCo’s ‘trading assets over success’ strategy is never going to change.

  12. Thank you unc 🥲…. He was great in the cwc final… Please get your shit together blueco

  13. If you and I can see clear as day that we need better defenders, imagine what the actual players feel!

  14. Anyone in this thread saying Enzo isn’t good enough or won’t be missed is absolutely wild.

Honestly, some of our supporters need a reality check. We will be seeing a lot more of this coming soon. Not every player is going to be Reece levels of committed to the club, and that’s okay. However, when you dont challenge for anything meaningful in 4+ years, you start to lose the trust of players with any shred of ambition.

I know it sounds cliché, but almost every player who gets to this level has some sort of ego. You don’t bet on yourself this much and put in this kind of effort without having astronomically high ambitions. I will always love having players who bleed blue, but I also love having winners. We are going to start losing our winners.

In the summer it’ll be 3 1/2 years that he’s been here, have we really improved since then? We finished a dismal 12th that year but since he’s been with us for a full season we have finished 6th, 4th, and this season likely to be back around 6th. It’s hard to say the situation has gotten much better. We have a couple small trophies but we aren’t really improving or challenging for significant achievements. After the momentum we built last year and this summer, we realistically should have top four on lock and be giving teams like City and Arsenal real problems. Liverpool and Newcastle have tanked this season and we have allowed Vila and United to take advantage of that rather than us.

When we sell for 10 mil extra than we paid for him, the ownership will be celebrating like it’s a Prem title.

  18. Slightly unrelated but I find it hilarious that people at the same time think that’s he’s as good as gone to Real, and also that he’s a mid player, at the same time. And they don’t see the problem with the logic here.

Why is it that whenever we have a poor run Enzo is suddenly a shit overrated toxic player?

  20. well he have long contract then at least he will go for big bag of money, we were losing bigger starts for less
