He’s a young lad who is way too inexperienced to start against a high pressing PSG in the UCL, but with how bad our defence is, Liam’s options are very limited.

  2. Rosenior threw Jorgensen into the deep end last week, now Sarr this week. These are not the kind of games you should be handing young inexperienced players their UCL debuts. Very poor decision making

Remember how under lampard the defense was leaking goals then tuchel came in and made it tighter than a nun’s knickers. For all the directness rosenior has brought in he has no defensive structure so I’m not gonna judge any of the defenders while they play for him

Said it in the march thread and will say again. That touch to control the ball for Kvara is magnificent lol

did Rosenior manage to prepare him properly? did he give Sarr a chance to play before throwing him under the bus? did he at least use the lad on his natural position? yes, Sarr’s performance was below average yesterday, but is it really him to actually blame? there’s no need to shift focus from manager’s decisions here.

  6. Wasn’t terrible for someone playing his first big match and out of position for that matter. Big mistake for the goal but otherwise didn’t look too bad

  7. The defense has been a huge problem I feel like since Tuchel… but it isn’t even a lack of trying. With Reece out for awhile this is going to be a tough end to the season.

Rosenior got the decision wrong but let’s not pretend a lot of people on here weren’t calling for him and Josh to be our starting centre backs for the rest of the season. State of the defensive options at this club at the moment. Fucking Hincampie had a release clause.

He also lost Afcon. Bad night.

I hope he’s okay though. I think he can be a top player. Also he’s not a right back and was left completely isolated one vs one with one of Europe’s top players.

I’m afraid this doesn’t reflect well on Rosenior at all. Nor of course on Chelsea’s recruitment.

  10. Our legendary CB Thiago Silva also got off to a horrendous start to his Chelsea career.

I’m not judging a player off the back of one performance. It is what it is.

Given the injuries he will be starting a lot more and I’m excited to actually see the lad play. Sometimes a breakthrough into the team happens when a manager is forced to play someone.

Shat himself on the first chance he got and completely killed the team

    Rough.

The kid now has experience. He has to play next match to keep it going. What would be stupid would be random rotation of the Maresca type.

  13. Despite the mistake i think hes one of our good defenders once he gets regular playing time

He’ll be an excellent defender. He just needs minutes. This was the wrong game to bring him in out of nowhere but we had no choice.
