I wish football was just about…literally football. Get rid of the rich people please.

  2. It is good that these execs are trying to uphold the integrity of the league and are definitely not trying to benefit from points deductions to other teams. Brings a tear to the eye.

  3. Fucking crybabies. Self reported, league would have never found out had we not reported

I think all these exasperated clubs should 100% open up their club finances for an audit. Show us all how completely legit you are!

Thankfully our owners self reported. So glad to be done with Romans bullshit.

The other clubs broke financial fair play limits Chelsea didn’t it was bribery by Roman to agents and players

Ultimately, it’s a matter of business viability. No one would invest in a premier club if they were held responsible for the previous administration’s actions. It would be like purchasing a vehicle, only to be charged for a crime the previous owner committed with it. You’re in possession of the car now, but you didn’t commit the act

  8. The sport lacks any sense of morality. The heart of the game really is gone, unironically.

So both uefa and the PL have issued a similar punishment and its been repeatedly stressed we never broke PSR (the threshold for points deductions) and yet thickos are making formal complaints? Has to be PR/stunt moves surely

  10. its not that complicated. If Roman was still in charge and caught doing this the penalties would be MASSIVE

BlueCo self reporting something that happened years before they had ever even heard of Chelsea is not really their fault is it lol

It’s also important to note (with my source being some random guy on the r/soccer thread) that even with these payments we wouldn’t have broken any spending rules. It sounds more to me that this is more of a tax fraud issue and youth player payment issue which explains the academy ban, and why the premier league really doesn’t care as I’m sure they have their own shady dealings they prefer to keep under the radar

  12. Even as chelsea fan, it seems fair enough. We r not talking about one off small thing and PL isnt very transparent and constitent dealing with these, they should be scrutinize much more and deal with these cases more quickly and transparently.

That being said, some fans, especially city fans, making it out like we r only one around doin shady bussiness while failing to mention that it was self reported which add whole new dimension to this case. Looking at the way PL as a whole is functioning u cant tell me theres no chance of other teams being involved in such practices.

Everton have every right to be unhappy!

This is the first time someone did something and Everton didn’t get docked points! Why this conspiracy against Everton?

They deserve to be docked points as per tradition.

Everton were docked points for failure to comply with PSR, a known set of regulations with known consequences. There’s no confusion as to why they got that punishment. The Chelsea issue is totally different, it’s a bunch of back channel payments that did not effect PSR, and likely were just to line certain agent pockets and such. Not good, but no competitive advantage in terms of bypassing PSR, and self reported.
