  1. I don’t understand why it was necessary to play him against Newcastle. Was he planning to play him against PSG as well? 3 heavy games within a week? You don’t have a player like this and bench him in a crucial CL game, even if you’re 3 goals down. So that was probably the plan, which is crazy to me

What happened to the guy on the med staff who had lineup/sub veto power for player health? Wasn’t that a whole thing with Maresca

  3. This is heartbreaking

But also I want to shoutout all the people who are going to blame Rosenior for this who also were screaming bloody murder at the suggestion Maresca would have to take the medical staff’s advice on how much a player could play and wanted to see him use players more

“Chelsea has tried to manage Reece James’ fitness”

They just haven’t though since Maresca left, have they? Somehow overplaying him and Gusto in the past 2 months and shocked their bodies break. Is anyone at the club actually competent?

  5. So Maresca was fired for not listening to the medical team but the same medical team couldn’t read the indicators on his fitness and allowed Rosenior to keep starting him?

  6. Ahh you mean our vastly inexperienced coach over played someone too much? Who could have foreseen such a thing

  7. Maresca played him very smartly. I think he has played the most minutes under Maresca in recent times.

It feels like im between two minds. We know he is injury prone so better to be cautious with his minutes, probably didnt need to be starting against newcastle. At the same time, hes our captain, he seemed healthy and hes our best player so he should be able to be relied upon during these important fixtures so i dont really complain about him playing.

  9. The problem is, in hindsight you rest him, but then he’s also our best RB, and one of our best and most consistent players in general when fit. He seemed to have been injury free for a good while, so this is just very unfortunate.

Santos was banished to the shadow realm because two games in a row he cost us a goal. Still makes no sense to start Reece against Newcastle he was poor and visibly exhausted. Could have played Essugo or Lavia instead we lost created very little and now will spend the rest of the season without Reece. Rosenoir masterclass

It would be different if we didn’t have cover for him, but he’s been playing alongside gusto, out of position, in which Santos could’ve played. I don’t get it at all.

Where the fuck were our dictatorial Medical department during this time? Twiddling their thumbs and relaxing whilst this successful project blossoms?

Broooo not again. I’m just saying at least Maresca rested him. FFS not again and world cup doubt too 😭

  14. This is so frustrating because playing Reece in midfield didn’t help him nor the team. It was constant back passes and he struggled to progress the ball from midfield. Absolutely horrible decisions from Liam rosenior

This thread is a great example of how stupid this sub is sometimes.

Now everyone is saying how dumb rosinier is for playing Reece James. But I bet my bottom dollar the same fools will moan if he DIDNT play and say how it’s unfair the medical team have so much power.
