After the 5–2 win against Sevilla, I’m starting to feel like Barça might actually have a real shot at the Champions League this season. Raphinha looks like he’s slowly getting back to the form he had last year, and that could be huge for us in the knockout games. One thing that has impressed me this season is the partnership between Gerard Martín and Cubarsí at centre-back. They’ve built really solid chemistry and look way more composed than expected for such a young pairing.

Cancelo has also been world-class going forward and gives us a lot of attacking width. Compared to last season, we finally have defensive depth too. Remember how much we struggled once Balde and Koundé got injured during the Inter tie? That lack of depth really cost us, but this year it feels like we have more options if injuries happen.

The only big concern right now is the number 9 position. Lewandowski’s finishing has clearly declined and he’s not as reliable as before. Ferran… well, Ferran is still Ferran. At this point I honestly wonder if trying Olmo as a false 9 could work, especially because he’s very good in tight spaces and linking play even if his performances can be inconsistent.

Also, looking at the Champions League bracket, our side seems comparatively easier than the other half. If we stay healthy and the attack clicks at the right time, I genuinely think we should push for the 6th Champions League rather than just hoping for a deep run. What do you guys think — is this squad actually good enough to go all the way?

Let’s hope we can keep this intensity up. Hoping that Madrid drops more points in LaLiga so we can throw away some games to get rest for UCL.

Araujo is a leauge player. As long as we play every available warm-bodoed creature ahead of Aaaah!raujo, we have a good chance.

Not with soon to be 38 Lewandowski who forgot how to play football. And Ferran Torres as your main strikers. You add the suicidal high line, the questionable one on one defending from all the defenders to the equation and you got a disaster.

  4. It all comes down to joan Garcia in my opinion

If he steps up and makes 3-4 big saves we may have a chance

Plus better game management when we play away from home

But we have to rest players in the league to be at our best

If we beat Newcastle (which we BETTER 😂) then get Atletico Madrid we have a chance to make semi finals. I doubt Barca will go down 4-0 again like last time vs Ateltico! Majority that saw us making it to semi finals were expecting Arsenal but who knows maybe it ends up being Bodo 😅. I think we make it to the semis or finals but to win man FOOK!! For Barca fans who have supported this club for long term in general know we have fallen short with some of it being unlucky. I truly hope we win it this year though but don’t want to keep my expectations to high. Of course our fans attending the match LOCK IN FOR THE PLAYERS 💫

Think we have potentially similar matchups to last year’s Inter in Atleti and Arsenal if us and those teams advance.

It’s crucial that we are able to retain the ball against strong pressing and physicality, as well as counter press against Arsenal.
And then with Atleti it’s always a shitshow but we must show composure and control. Can’t let Alvarez/Grizou/Sørloth/Giuliano feast on the high line.

But id rather very much take these teams over Bayern/PSG/Madrid on the way to the final.

Will be an interesting KO stage for sure, with teams like Bodo Glimt also showing promise

  7. Man the worst part about this year’s UCL is not having the home advantage from now on. If we qualify, the 2nd leg’s at Metropolitano and the Semi’s 2nd leg potentially at the Emirates. It’s bleak

It all depends on our consistency. We are yet to show that level in the cl

Barca’s problem is amplitudes. They play one game very well and the second catastrophic.

  10. Depends on how well April goes and how early we can settle the league

We might face atlético 3 times in one month and real Madrid once in April also other games like Getafe and celta Vigo if by god’s grace we can settle the league by like mid April or atleast have a substantial enough lead to rest players for a game we should be fine

But truth be told we just don’t have the squad depth to compete for both laliga and UCL if it goes down to the wire

We can win against any team and we can lose against any team, that’s the football we play , we might go on to humiliate teams aur get humiliated ourselves, same case for UCL we can win it and we can be out against Newcastle

I think this year we’re a bit worse than last year due to injuries and players’ form. We still have a solid 30% chance to win, though. It’s not that the other teams are much better than us, but the system and the individual mistakes we make every game hold us back.

  13. Last year we had a better season the lineup was solid and rapha was over performing and yet we fell this year on the other hand our squad is inconsistent and surprises us sometimes (copa del Rey) so my bet is that we might win because we’ve been seen as the “urderdogs” this year. Without any hope if the win comes will be sweet as honey, if we lost, I won’t cry like s baby like I did last year

  14. Rashford can hold the line. Pace, intelligence and finishing. He’s done it before at United

Too many injuries, fatigue and relatively out of form players. This is a transition season and we should invest in developing the youth for squad depth next season.

Our chance is as good as Chelsea’s was in 2012. We really need luck to go our way and opponents to have a bad day. That generally never happens to us. So yeah.

It all depends on the four main players: Lamine, Rafa, Joan Garcia, and Pedri. If they show up in big games, we can win this. We are not the favourites, and that is good. I am not expecting us to win, but I want us to win it when we are underdogs. Everyone is writing us off, and rightfully so. We don’t show up in big games, DK why. The only way we are winning this competition is by scum bagging it.

So the thing is this team is capable of everything, and I don’t mean it on a optimistic way. The same squad is capable of losing 4-0 against Atletico and then 3-0 on the second leg. 5-2 with half of the bench against Sevilla and then drawing against a team that plays 0 football as Newcastle did last week…

That’s unpredictable and unconsistent, so it’s not so easy to tell what might happen on each eliminatory. Even now is not that easy to say that we might get pass Newcastle this round…

I would really love for this Barça to do the unpredictable, because is the kind of underdog story I love the most in sports. This is not the unbeatable Pep’s Barça. This is no MSN. This is a team with a lot of heart and collons but also a lot of flaws, so winning it now would mean more than ever

I think there are chances, but we are not among the favorites to win this trophy. With our not-so-good defense, I think the likes of Arsenal, Bayern, or PSG could beat us, but we shouldn’t lose hope. As long as the ball is in play, anything is possible.

Late comment , but Champions League is all about moments and being clinical

Last season you switch Tek for Joan Garcia and we go thru because from the 7 goals Inter score against us , Joan would have save 2-3 from those.

Sommer was the reincarnation of every goalkeeper and stop everything , he was insane , the best goalkeeper of that Champions league until PSG score 5 past him like it was nothing loooool

  21. If Altetico football field doesn’t slide Barca away from it chances are moderate. Bayern is probabl6 the strongest team in CL but they have a huge goalkeeper issue at the moment
