[FabriceHawkins] Reece James’s unavailability is estimated at 2 months following this new hamstring tear. Chelsea’s captain has a slim hope of playing again with the Blues at the very end of the season. Confirmed out for Chelsea/PSG.

  1. As usual our board lies by underreporting the severity.
    “Continuing to undergo rehab”

  2. Terrible news but on the other hand

We have Santos as fantastic Midfield depth and Gusto has been playing right back most recently anyway

Pretty much season over for him. I don’t think i’m strong enough to watch Gusto playing in every single game we’ve got left.

Watching the right side on Saturday in the stands, it honestly felt like we were asking gusto to do the job of two players. He was basically covering both RB and the entire RW channel for large stretches.

Midweek he’s sprinting up and down the flank, then we ask him to do the exact same thing again a few days later. That’s a ridiculous amount of ground for one player to cover in this system. The amount of spaces our players had to cover was damning, can’t imagine how it must have been at psg stadium which is bigger than ours.

So gusto missing training afterwards really shouldn’t shock anyoneif anything it was coming with the workload he’s been given.

2 high intensity games in 4 days and he’s done. Probably his World Cup over as well, huge shame.

Get well soon, captain. You’ve been an inspiration to all of us. Hope your recovery goes well because Chelsea and England need you

  7. Oh ffs. My only hope is that it’s somehow completely unrelated to his past recurring tears and he can come back. But somehow don’t see how this isn’t very bad news long term.

Bad for England as well. If he’s fit he’s walking into that team

God is cruel man, just after he signed a new contract too

I really wish him the best recovery since the WC is soon, i don’t want him to end up like Real madrid’s Rodrygo rn.

  11. Lavia became available and he signed a new deal, the greater powers said that was enough and struck him down again 💔💔💔

  12. In the last 3 weeks Chelsea have played 6 games, James has played 90 minutes in 5 of them. He’s obviously over his worst of it but we still need to be more careful.
