  1. Slot should be creating competition for Gapko with Chiesa, that brings the best out in players fighting for your place, instead this manager doesn't understand this his man management is shocking he plays one out of form and gives the other no look in to shatter boths confidence, you see Robo and Kerkez perform well now because they fight for that spot, it does not happen on left wing

  2. He’s a perfect squad option really but Diaz offered considerably more both in terms of ball progression and pressing/defence

There is (finally) green shoots of a good side forming with Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong Ekitike ALL in that Side but not sure Gapko is in the mix

  3. This is definitely all about having a scapegoats, Gapko has been far far better than Mo Salah this year yet people won't say anything about Mo . It's like a scapegoat Bandwagon

  4. He is too lanky and slow to play on the wing. Does not have the attack IQ and the first touch to play as a striker. He is never in the right position both offensively or defensively, and doesnt have the technical or physical ability to make up for it

  5. Fans were more attached to Lucho than to Gakpo. Gakpo doesnt have a chant, Lucho did. He can have good games yet still get stick. The reason he doesnt go to the byline on his left is because hes right footed, like Salah who is left footed and never reaches the byline. They are both inverted right and left wingers which is a major problem, especially in a league where teams arent as wide open as teams in europe. Gakpo can go around the outside, but hes not too good at it .

  6. I have been watching him fora while now and I'm not impressed. Apart from being a one trick pony, watching him run around tells me he is not smart enough to play for LFC. He runs around aimlessly and only does one thing when he has the ball.

  7. there is no doubt in my mind that our ineffective struggling wingers has been the main reason we are not in first place in the league. People want to focus on defense but what i see is no counter, slow pace, and poor overlap play which has made our attack more central and narrow

  8. People are just having a go at gakpo bcoz you and all the media isn’t jumping on his bk and getting dropped by the boss – gakpo has started all games when really he is just a Ryan Babel mek2 and shd be a super sub

  9. My only issue is that Jurgen would have, and even most other coaches, including the sorts of Mourinho or Conte, would eventually prepare and start putting Rio in. Just to offer a youngster a fair opportunity to earn his spot. Slot is really frustrating in that sense, after having shipped off several promising youngsters that we had spent significant time in preparing, cheaping out on gaming time to the ones that were kept, seem very narrow-minded and almost arrogant.

  10. DĆaz was nowhere near Mané’s level, but he still somehow delivered. Even Darwin, despite his many flaws, managed to contribute by creating chances for others with his chaos and effort. But Gakpo is such a useles ineffective player. He’s the most predictable left winger I’ve seen in my life. I can’t remember the last time he truly saved us. I’ll put it this way: I’d rather keep KonatĆ© at double his wages than keep Gakpo, and I don’t even rate KonatĆ© that highly.

  11. Gakpo wasn't supposed Io be a first team player this year. Ekitike was supposed to play there and isak upfront but because of injury that didn't happen. Gakpo is a different option to bring off the bench. Liverpool will need to go out and get a left wing and a right wing in the summer because Sala is going as well and we can't rely on isak to be fit all season as his previous 5 seasons have proven.

  12. He has no competition therefore he’s become complacent. He was challenging Diaz for the lw last season and had his best season at the club.

  13. To accommodate Gakpo on the left, Slot shifted Lucho into the center — away from his natural position — yet he still outscored Gakpo and finished second on Liverpool’s goal-scoring chart last season. That speaks volumes about his quality, adaptability, and impact.

  14. Gakpo has been shit, but we’ve changed way we’ve played and he’s shunted out wider and deeper, and this isn’t playing into his limited skill set.

He has limited pace and limited tricks, so asking him do this role is not playing to his strengths.

Typically we’ve provided him overlapping him, and that allowed defenders to be dragged out of position and give him chance to cut inside and score.

Now he’s not really getting that, so he’s made to look worse as result.

Ironic that player we sold was ideal to do just that
