The academy graduate revealed that he struggled to cope with everyday life after suffering the second major injury of his career, which kept him out for more than 200 days.
He also praised the support of Hansi Flick, whom he described as “like a father,” and said he hopes the coach stays “for many more years.”
Gavi will remember March 15 forever as the day he wore the Barcelona shirt again. The La Masia product was able to play a football match more than 200 days after his injury. He has now overcome the second serious injury of his career. The Spotify Camp Nou crowd chanted his name from the moment he went out to warm up.
“It’s an indescribable feeling. I’m very happy to be back with the team and with the fans,” he said.
He then spoke honestly about the difficult recovery.
“The truth is it’s been very tough, much tougher than the last time. I had a really hard time. It’s been the most painful process and it was harder for me in day-to-day life,” he admitted.
“I’m very happy. I’ve dreamed about this moment many times,” he added.
Gavi also wanted to especially thank Hansi Flick for his support.
“He has always been with me, like a father. He has always supported me, also during the previous injury. I’m grateful because he has always trusted me despite the two serious injuries,” said the academy player.
“I hope he stays for many more years,” he emphasized.
Just ten minutes on the pitch were enough for Gavi to show that injuries will not make him hesitate in challenges.
“I will always keep playing the same way. I’ve been like this since I was born. It’s my way of competing—I always give everything for this club and I will continue to do so my whole life,” he said.
“I’ve felt very good and I hope to keep going like this. In the end it’s a complicated injury, but I know I can overcome this and many more. I’ll try to improve every day. I’m not yet 100% like my teammates, but I’m close and I hope to be there soon.”

Oh Warrior, My Warrior !
i forgot what caused his second injury? was it just his first injury aggravated? or was it due to something else? on or offfield? and contact or non-contact?
Culer through and through.
Can someone remind me how he got injured the last time?
Legend says that Gavi got a yellow ten seconds after he was born, after biting through his own umbilical cord, when he tackled a wet-nurse who was attempting to give him a spank. The tackle was naturally done with his head.
He was given a RED card and sent home with his mother.
