There were situations on the pitch that I didn’t like very much. We lacked conviction. We’ve played many matches and for some players it’s too much effort. We need to play faster. We must stay focused because Newcastle are a good team. Let it be clear that I’m happy and not being negative, but this week is very important and on Wednesday it will be decided whether we go through in the Champions League or not.

As long as flick doesn’t start ferran itll be okay, lewa aint much better but he can atleast pull a rabbit out of the hat occasionally.
In my opinion , the tempo being slow today was advantageous for us in the long run sure pedri didn’t have a good game but our players are already exhausted and there wasn’t many rotations in the squad today either only Yamal was rested taking all this into account playing at a slower tempo and still controlling the match properly and winning convincingly didn’t only help us to maintain our lead in la liga but also keeps our players less exhausted than they would have been if we played at a higher tempo
As playing at a higher tempo requires constant movment, acceleration and deacceleration, and recovering the shape of formation quickly due to constant attacking and defensive transitions
The way players moved around and rotated is a good sign that they can counter newcastle man-marking so we don’t repeat the result of the last match, they barely created any threat
But yeah, the newcastle match is gonna be a lot faster since it’s the UCL so hopefully the players are sharp and can make quick decisions to unlock the defense
